Do It Now For Later

That's good advice no matter how you slice it. Wouldn't you agree?

Maybe it's a bit confusing and you're not exactly sure what is meant by this statement and maybe you don't even agree with the philosophy behind it.

Most people don't understand it or get it and, even if they do, they don't agree with it and what it means for their lives.

Many - if not most - people live in the NOW.

They have no focus, care or concern for the future and what their future could involve. Oh, you may hear them SAY that they are concerned for their future and that they are trying to plan for their future but what you hear are just words.

As a matter of fact, when most people say that they are "concerned" for their future it usually means they have no idea what they are going to do because they have nothing in place to take care of their future.

A few years ago I heard a father on a television "reality" show give a pretty good answer to his son who was wanting to watch television and play video games before he got his homework done. The father's answer went something like this: "Son, you do what you HAVE to do so that you can then do what you WANT to do."

Same idea as you see in the graphic above.

Work hard NOW so that you can take it easy later.

Do what it takes NOW so that you can have the life you desire later.

Build relationships with your family and your kids NOW so that they will be by your side later. (And, by the way this is not a contradiction of the sentence two paragraphs up. This does not have to be an "either/or" proposition).

If necessary, scrimp NOW - live frugally now - so that you can live like most others won't and can't later.

Sure, enjoy your life today. It IS all that we have. But, honestly, only a fool would live their life without focus and a plan for their future.

Want it made very simple? Ask any athlete - yes, even Jr. High and High School  - about how they feel about the "two-a-day" football practices that start in the summer before school even begins.

They may not like it but they get it.

And so should you, friend.

So, as you live today with a view of tomorrow in sight, be sure to...

How To Make Things Happen

Before we get started, if you HAVE NOT at LEAST read and/or listened to yesterday's article - DO THAT BEFORE YOU READ THIS!

The information in yesterday's post is not just a one-day thing! Make it an on-going process that you involve yourself in and allow your mind to expand DAILY as you do so!

Now, let me also say this - today's blog article CAN be read and applied individually and can be applied to any and every area of your life. Make sense?

However, as part of this series that began last week, I really want to stress how important it is for you to be fully involved in this whole set and ESPECIALLY by connecting yesterday's information to what I share with you today from Bob Proctor.

Now, as I have been doing for the past couple of posts, I've highlighted in color the part of this post that comes directly from the notes I took from the presentation by Mr. Proctor so that you can differentiate between my thoughts and his. You won't find much "colored" words in this post (as you can already see for yourself) because, again, what I'm sharing with you from him is very simple and powerful and to the point.

So, in specific relation to the discussion from the last post about sharing one way to make the things discussed there become a reality, I share Mr. Proctor's response:

Things Don't Happen Unless YOU DECIDE That They Will Happen!

In other words, if you want that to become a reality in your life then you must first DECIDE to make it happen! MAKE A DECISION!

Listen to me! This "decision" cannot be a "half-hearted" response such as, "uh, o.k....uh, sure."

THAT IS NOT A DECISION!

It's much like what I discussed about so many people's "New Year's Resolution" that is done and gone within a month. That is NOT a resolution. There was no RESOLVE (root word) in the first place to carry that through.

So it is with a DECISION!

I'm talking an "I will not stop until this is done!" kind of decision. This, my friend, is a real RESOLUTION! "I will do whatever it takes!"

Do you have that ability? SURE YOU DO!

Is your desire that strong? Only you can answer that one. It IS within you, but only YOU can make that choice, that DECISION.

Look closely at what I shared from Mr. Proctor - "Things don't happen..."  This relates to EVERYTHING and EVERY AREA in and of your life!

If you've followed me for very long at all, you will know that I, many times, end my discussions with, "It's up to you! It's YOUR choice!"

As is often said, your "WHY" must be strong enough to bring about such a decision in your life Again, specifically in regards to the last blog article, you must be willing to answer the questions presented there..."How would your life change if..."

For things to change, YOU must change.

The only way YOU can change (and/or change the things in your life that you want/need to change) is to make a DECISION to do so.

So, you up for it?

Only YOU can decide.

Just know, whatever you do or don't do, a decision has been made.

Until next time...

How To Close the Gap

How To Close the Gap

Yesterday we discussed the dilemma of HOW to close the gap between where we would like to be and where we are. What do you do?

As part of yesterday's podcast and blog I mentioned an article about "myths concerning millionaires" and directed you to the posting of it on the fan page on Facebook. For those that did not find it or for those that may be accessing this article LONG after it was typed up - here is that article link:

http://finance.yahoo.com/banking-budgeting/article/110333/millionaire-myths?mod=bb-budgeting

Today I share from an article by Jim Rohn entitled, "Achieving Your Dream".

Here is the link to that article:

http://www.jimrohn.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=1284&utm_source=jrn-8_2_10&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=ezines

You can read the article when you get a chance - I read the article word for word in today's podcast. Why? Because no one says it any better than the late, great Jim Rohn!

Bottom line - to get from HERE to THERE...start doing the "uncomfortable" until it becomes "comfortable". More on that in tomorrow's podcast and blog entry.

And, all along the way, be sure to...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

How Do I Close the Gap?

"How Do I Close the Gap?"

Sometimes we take note of people in the news that are wealthy beyond our imagination and wonder why that can't be us.

So many times we also begin to "attack" that wealthy person (knowing very little - if anything - about them) so that we can feel better about why we are where WE are in relation to where THEY are!

I mentioned an article in the podcast about "Myths About Millionaires" and I've posted it on the fan page on Facebook - go there to check it out. (If you're not a member, go to http://www.FutureYouUniversity.com and click on the contacts tab and join up to become a member of our fan page there).

Hey, listen - you and I have both known this for a very long time...the easiest way to try to make ourselves feel better is to try to tear someone else down! We see it all of the time and, let' admit it, we've also DONE it from time to time.

But, may I suggest that we look at this a different way?

Perhaps, instead of "pulling them down" we need to STEP UP!

It is interesting that, with the article I mention, the comments that people left about the article just emphasize what I'm saying even more. Whining and complaining and the majority of the those leaving comments have NO IDEA what they are even talking about.

Why not let it be DIFFERENT with YOU?

Again, you don't have to be a millionaire to change your life, right?

What amount of money would make difference in your monthly budget? Would $1,000 a month make a big difference in your life? My guess is that it would! That's an extra $12,000 per year!

Whatever is needed in your life - what are YOU doing about it?

Are you sitting on THIS side of the gap looking over at the OTHER side and just whining about it? Are you just sitting and WONDERING how come things are the way that they are?

OR are you ready to start putting some plans - backed by ACTION - into place so that you can "close the gap"?

Guess what? It's all up to YOU!

Hey, you should know by now - if you don't already - that this is the main point of just about everything I say. YOU. No one else so stop looking around. YOU.

What will YOU do?

Start today and, as you do so...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"
