Thankful Thursday - "Start NOW!"

I have really enjoyed sharing additional information in my recent podcasts on the 5 points found in the FREE REPORT that anyone can receive on my website http://www.FutureYouUniversity.com

The last point that I cover in today's podcast is, "Start NOW!".

This really goes hand in hand with all of the other points and sums it up quite nicely --- stop waiting, stop wishing, stop making excuses about why you can't (love yourself, remember?) and know that you CAN and start now!

Whatever it is - start making the progress right now - today! What are you waiting for?

Improvements do not happen overnight! I just got off of the phone with a gentleman interviewing me for a program that will be made public soon (I'll let you know where to find it once that has happened) and we talked about this very thing in some of our discussion.

Too many times we look at someone that has excelled in their particular field - and we wish we could do the same or we want to do the same. The problem is, we often expect to reach their level of success right away. Here's the question that we must ask ourselves, "Are we willing to do what they did to get where they are?" And, honestly, most of us are not.

So, if we ARE serious about improving our lives (in whatever way you may think of) then it is important for us to realize that we MUST work on it every day and make progress each and every day.

This applies whether it be preparing yourself for a job promotion or even preparing yourself for a particular job, preparing to take your G.E.D. or preparing to go back to school to get another or a different degree OR stepping out in a whole new career. THIS APPLIES TO EVERY AREA!

So, stop waiting and START NOW - who else is going to do it for you? The answer - no one but YOU!

I'd love to hear any feedback/response that you may have on any or all of these 5 points that I have covered - you can leave them here or send me an email at mike@futureyouuniversity.com

And, as always, remember to...

"Make it an AWESOME Day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

"What Up?" Wednesday (also, WONDERFUL Wednesday!)

When you listen to my podcast for today you will notice right away that my energy level is not where it normally is! When I recorded the podcast last night, I was quite sick but needed to get it done for you to have today.
I'm somewhat better today - but still not 100%.

The main focus of the podcast today is to share information about the possible upcoming Seminar in Dallas on June 20th. I'm letting you know "what's up" (hence, the "What Up?" tag ;) ) with some important information concerning that event.

HOWEVER, I do end the podcast sharing some positive thoughts. Simply put it's this -YOU HAVE A CHOICE today! How often have you heard me say that one? Yet, we all still need to be reminded that, regardless of the circumstances, we ALL have a choice to - for example - "make it an AWESOME day!"

People and/or things cannot make you happy. Can they bring you happiness? Sure. Temporarily. But what happens when that person or thing is gone? What happens if/when that person dumps on your or that thing (job? car?) is no longer what it was at first? Perhaps you LOST your job or you WRECKED your car -- what then?

Only YOU can make that happen. Relying on other things and/or people puts you at the mercy of those people and/or things. You then become a THERMOMETER reacting to what surrounds you instead of a THERMOSTAT that SETS THE PACE for your life.

Think about it and....

"Make it an AWESOME Day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

The Power of Encouragement

I just had to share this with you today.

Yesterday (Monday) was one of those days that things just didn't seem to "click" - know what I mean? The weather was horrible with hard rain all day and, just in general, it was a real trial in keeping my positive attitude in check.

And today? It's amazing when I consider the "power of encouragement". Today on Facebook I had two people from my past contact me out of the "clear blue" and tell me how much I meant to them. BOOM!

Do you know what that did for me? It was HUGE and it put a HUGE smile on my face!

Let me encourage you to think for a moment - is there ANYONE that you could send a short message to (or make a quick phone call to) and just let them know that you were thinking of them and that you appreciate them?
I'm sure there is.

Why not do it? Why not do it NOW?

I can promise you this - it will make a difference in their day! (And yours, too!)

Live it. Love it. Share it.

Make it an AWESOME Day! (and this is one way how) - Who else is going to do it for you?

Mike Spillman

KNOW That You Can!

When you listen to today's podcast (if you haven't already) you will be able to tell that I get very passionate about this topic. Actually, you will hear some frustration expressed about those that will do everything that they can to KEEP YOU from making positive progress in your life!

Think about it. Let's use the example of deciding to lose weight. You share your news with several of your "friends" and prepare to begin your journey. Likely, even at the mention of your plans you will have one of your "friends" (you may want to reconsider this label) drop a "negative grenade" on your plans. They may say something like, "Oh, why do you want to waste your time doing that? You're just like the rest of us - you can't lose weight!"
I know that, already, some of you are nodding your head because you've experienced this, haven't you?
And these so-called "friends" will continue to be negative anytime you share your progress. As a matter of fact, they will even share their negative comments even if you DON'T share your progress. For example, you walk into the office and they may say, "Hey, I thought you were on a diet? Have you started it yet?" They may even do things like offer you a piece of cake or a doughnut and then say, "Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot you were trying to lose weight!" NOTICE: They DID NOT forget! They are trying to sabotage your efforts - you can be sure of that!
And then they will whine and complain about the fact that they "need" to lose weight and about how they can't and they wish they could.
I think the Greek word for that is.... HOGWASH!

So, yeah, I do get a little upset at people like that. It makes it hard for anyone that tries to make a positive move in their life. By the way, you can use any example that you want, and the result will be the same - you will have others that are determined to keep you where they are. Why? For one, they don't want the "spotlight" shining on them and their inability to even produce the DESIRE to actually DO SOMETHING about the state of their lives.

I actually know of a husband that, in years past would actually unhook wires under the hood of his wife's car so that she could not do something that would improve her life. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??

So, it is important to instill this determination deep within -YES, YOU CAN! Although it may be hard you MUST block out these negative forces and, yes, you may even need to withdraw from the situation. Again, reconsider how much of a "friend" they actually are when, instead of encouraging you and being happy for you, they try to derail your efforts.

Sometimes we can't. Sometimes we live with them. And, yes, you need to sit down with them and try to talk to them about what they are actually doing (they usually already know it and will deny it). What do you do if they still don't listen?

LOAD UP ON THE POSITIVE!

Think of it as a scale that has two sides to show what object is heavier. You must do everything within your power to make sure that the POSITIVE outweighs the NEGATIVE!

The very fact that you are reading this shows that you are making an effort to do just that. If it's not enough - then find more positive things to incorporate into your life and RID your life of ANYTHING negative that will fight you in this effort to tip the scale in your positive side. Hint: pay attention to what you watch on t.v. and read in newspapers/magazines/on-line.

Again, it's up to you. We (you and I) cannot expect others to do it for us. Yes, there are friends that actually DO encourage us and help us along the way - aren't you glad? But, we still cannot rely on them to do it for us. It's up to us!

And, KNOW -- deep inside - KNOW THAT YOU CAN!

And, finally, always remember to...
"Make it an AWESOME Day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

"Love Yourself - part 2"

It's another "Magical Monday" ("As long as there is breath - there is hope!") and I hope that you have had a wonderful weekend!

I mentioned on my podcast how much fun I had this past weekend riding my motorcycle up to see my good friend, Fred up in Missouri. It was one of those things that I had talked about many times ("I need to go up and see Fred....one of these days I need to ....") but, for one reason or another wasn't doing. The thing is, there was no REAL reason that has kept me from doing so - can you relate? So, anyway, I climbed on my bike and headed out about 10 a.m. Friday morning and arrived around 3:00 p.m. I took a short break and then the two of us climbed on our bikes at about 3:30 p.m. and rode until about 6:50 pm. to have supper together. I have to admit, my rear end was getting a little sore at this point! After supper, we had about another 35 miles to go to bet back to his house and then sat up until about midnight talking about old times and our friendship. Fred had to be "on the clock" at 7:00 a.m. so I got up and talked to him for a few minutes Saturday morning and then hopped back on my bike around 8:00 a.m. and headed back home and arrived there around 1:00 p.m.
It was a hard ride due to the wind...but I am SO glad that I did it and got to spend such a great time with my friend.

And, also, this coming Saturday I will once again get with some of my old classmates from High School and have lunch with them. Awesome!

So - what about you? What is something that YOU can do to "treat yourself" to a smile and a hearty laugh?

You see, even this applies to today's podcast topic that is continued from last Thursday - "Love Yourself." So many times - for whatever reason - we tell ourselves that we don't "deserve" this or that. Yes, even good relationships with good friends!

Perhaps someone has told you that - even in your childhood - and it is something that you need to overcome. But START TODAY learning to love yourself.

WHY NOT YOU?

Yes, you DO deserve happiness! Yes, you DO deserve the best life has to offer. Remember, you were BORN someone special! You are UNIQUE! "God doesn't make junk!"

In today's podcast I also share something that John Di Lemme says about this topic. He declares that you were BORN a CHAMPION! Your birth certificate is evidence of that fact! He declares that CHAMPIONS ARE BORN and LOSERS ARE MADE. I also told you I would include a link to his website, so here it is: http://john-dilemme.com/

Enjoy the podcast - explore who you are and learn to LOVE YOURSELF!

I'd love to hear any feedback that you may have - either here on the blog or by emailing me at: mike@futureyouuniversity.com

FUN FRIDAY (More Men vs. Women) - (Booty Shake?)

Yup, I'm doing this early - on Thursday night because I will be on my motorcycle riding up to south east Missouri for the next couple of days.

BUT IT'S FUN FRIDAY - what will YOU do for fun today? What will YOU do to smile and help someone else to smile?

Loosen up! Don't be too serious - ESPECIALLY with all of the negativity that is so dominant in the news during these current times.

Enjoy life, enjoy TODAY - it is all you have.

And, yes, I NEED you to send me some more thoughts/ideas from your own discussions concerning things men can't do and/or things women can't do - I'm running out of stuff which means I need to find something else to discuss on the next Fun Friday!

Hey friends - have a great weekend - be safe - love yourself and we will continue the discussion on that topic ("Love Yourself" - part 2) on Monday.

Remember,

"Make it an AWESOME Day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

Thankful Thursday's podcast: "Love Yourself" (part 1)

Hello friends!

Today's podcast goes way beyond my ability to cover it adequately on my podcast - even though I am continuing it at least to a "part 2"!

Loving yourself is a struggle that every one of us deals with at one time or another in our lives and it is one thing that absolutely impacts every area of our lives. IT'S MASSIVE!

I'd love to hear any thoughts and additional comments that you may have on the topic - shoot me an email at: mike@futureyouuniversity.com

TOMORROW is "Fun Friday" and I will continue the fun topic of "Men vs. Women" - be sure to listen in and share any additional thoughts you have on that as well - COME ON, share those funny lists of your own you've come up with!

MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT COMING WEDNESDAY!

Be sure to listen to my podcast on
WEDNESDAY, April 22nd
for a
MAJOR PROMOTIONAL ANNOUNCEMENT
connected with my upcoming seminar!

"Terrific Tuesday" - LIVE Where You Are!

I don't know if there is any more important a topic than this one discussed in today's podcast. We must all learn the art of living "where we are".

What do I mean by that? Well, consider this - how many times do you find yourself wishing you were somewhere else? Doing something else, someplace else with someone else? Ever? Often?

My guess is that it depends on how "happy" you think you are with "where you are". This ties in with yesterday's discussion of "Stop Waiting" and the thought of how much time is we waste by waiting for everything to be the way we want them to be before we do something. Each day that passes by is gone forever, never to be reclaimed! Let that sink in for a moment. Really think about that and let it cause you to STOP WAITING and START LIVING where you are!

Now! Today! I understand that your situation may not be what you hope for, dream for and even plan to achieve in your lifetime. HOWEVER, you are where you are RIGHT NOW and it's your choice what you do with it, isn't it?

If you believe that everything happens for a reason, then consider that you are where you are for a reason, a PURPOSE! (Now, you may really think I'm crazy and you may be yelling at your computer, "What? Do you KNOW my situation??" - By the way, do you know how silly you look yelling at a computer screen?) ;)

Perhaps there is someone that you have contact with on a daily basis that needs you! Perhaps they need YOUR positive energy! Perhaps they NEED your help in making it through a rough time. Maybe - just maybe - you work with a group of people that you can count on to help you network with others that may be able to propel you along your way in whatever it is that you would like to do.

I could go on and on with that thought, but why don't YOU continue that thought? Look around you today. Opportunity surrounds you - TODAY! People surround you today and, yes, believe me, I know that people can literally drive you nuts if you let them...but, maybe - just maybe - there is someone there that has been placed in your life for a reason.

Think about it.

Look at today in ways that you have never looked at a day before and realize that, indeed, it is not only POSSIBLE but it is a NECESSITY to begin to "live where you are."

"Make it an awesome day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

I really want to encourage you to get similar discussions going with your friends at work, church, or whatever --- get people together tonight and just do this for fun - see what you can come up with.

Specifically: What are some things MEN can do that WOMEN cannot?
and.......... What are some things WOMEN can do that MEN cannot?

I'd LOVE to have you share some of your answers with me (mike@FutureYouUniversity.com) so that I can share them on the next Fun Friday podcast.

Now, don't throw stuff at each other! This is for FUN! :)

Enjoy the podcast, enjoy the day and weekend and, don't forget, Monday we will begin a discussion on the 5 points found in the FREE REPORT that you can receive by signing up at http://www.FutureYouUniversity.com

Upcoming for "Fun Friday"

Hey, thought I'd give you a "head's up" and allow you the chance to be thinking ahead of time and maybe even sharing with me some thoughts on this subject.
I PROMISE YOU - YOU WILL HAVE SOME THOUGHTS ON THIS SUBJECT! ;)

The topic for Friday - "Men vs. Women"
The idea - discussing things that men can do and women cannot as well as things women can do and men cannot.

Wow, that should get your mind spinning!

It's going to be fun - be sure to join us for this week's "Fun Friday"!

Another "Wonderful Wednesday"!

Yes, even on "tax day" - it is a "WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!" Say it with me now when I ask why that is so -- "As long as there is breath, there is hope!"
"Oh, but I owe more money in taxes than I have in the bank right now!" Are you breathing? Yes? Then take another breath and realize that you are ALIVE and that there is still HOPE no matter what the circumstances look like.
No, that doesn't mean that everything is always the way we wish they were (are they ever??) - but the very fact that we are taking a breath let's us know that we can and WILL survive!

Be sure to listen to today's podcast as I continue the discussion on "Making the Move". Today we look specifically at "Breaking Down the Barriers to the Move".

Really, this goes hand in hand with some earlier discussion we had about "Why Not Me?" and "Why Not Now?" Did you make a list way back then? If you did, find it, look at it and examine those "reasons/excuses" that you wrote down then as you consider the "barriers" that keep you from moving forward. If you did not make that list or have no idea where it is today - take a moment and do that - WHAT ARE YOUR BARRIERS?

How many of them can be summed up in the word, "FEAR"?

My guess is - when you look very closely that you will find the majority (if not all) of them coming under the heading of fear. We're AFRAID to move into the "unknown".

When did we learn that fear? Go back to when you were a kid and think about all of the things you did that were, at first, unknown. We have been TAUGHT fear.

So, share your thoughts - I'd love to hear from you (mike@FutureYouUniversity.com) or you can leave a comment here. Either way, I'd love to hear from you and discuss your barriers.

As I mention on today's podcast, as we discuss the "what if's" (usually all negative, such as "what if it doesn't work?") why not put a positive thought in there with them. WHAT IF THIS MOVE MAKES ME HAPPIER THAN I EVER DREAMED POSSIBLE?

Think about it. Dream it. Do it. And....

Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?

UPDATE on FIRST SEMINAR!! (yeah, READ THIS!)

Alright! (Yeah, I know, I start all of my podcasts that way, too) ;)
Due to some scheduling conflicts that have come up on my end I have had to CHANGE the DATE for my very first SEMINAR! It was scheduled for Saturday, June 13th and now it has been bumped one week to SATURDAY, JUNE 20th!!!
Mark this date down and PLAN TO BE A PART! Why? Well, go to http://www.futureyouuniversity.com/ and click on "F.Y.U. Class of 2009" to read the "why" (uh, can you say "lifetime price freeze"?). You don't want to miss this first, great opportunity!
There will be more things announced very soon that will be "part of the package" of this event - BUT BE THINKING AND PLANNING NOW (and also cast your vote as far as location).
At this point I plan to do one seminar in June, one in July and two in August - all of which will be a part of what I am calling "Future You University - Summer Session 2009".
You want to be a part of this "Summer Session" (again, the FIRST one carries the "lifetime price freeze") because beginning in September, the price for the seminar WILL GO UP!
I'm ready! Are you? Will you? (Hey, by the way, do you have any idea how much FUN we will have on top of all of the pumped up, positive vibes??)
Anyway, there you go - can you tell I'm a little - JUST A LITTLE - excited?
(One last note - I will be scheduling conference calls very, very soon to start sharing with you some more thoughts and insights to this exciting weekend - be listening and watching!)
Mike

A Sneek Peek at Next Week (wow, it rhymes!)

Hey everyone, if you've not done so, you need to go to http://www.FutureYouUniversity.com and request your free report offered there.
Why?
Because beginning Monday, April 20th, I will begin a series of podcasts on each of these 5 points. So, you will want to get that report and copy & paste it to where you can spread out each topic and take notes.

You won't want to miss it!

"Making the Move" (Part 3) - TERRIFIC TUESDAY!

(yes, this was posted before I went to bed on Monday night)

Today is "Terrific Tuesday"...why? "As long as there is breath, there is hope!"

Also, this is the first Tuesday podcast that I have done and I am so excited and pumped about this series I am doing right now. I think it can be invaluable to YOU either right now or for your future. Feel free to send me any feedback and thoughts that you may have on this topic. Is it hitting home? Striking a chord? Bringing up some other questions that you'd like to have discussed? Please send them to me at: mike@futureyouuniversity.com

As part of the continued discussion on this topic of "Making the Move" I share a letter from a listener that talked about his struggle in this area as well as his FEAR of failure. This will be the basis of our discussion in Wednesday's podcast (part 4) - so be sure to join me.

However, I shared some very specific things that I thought this listener should be asking himself as he considered making his move (his words were, "It's TIME!") and I mentioned on the podcast that I'd put them here to make it easier for you to write down.

Either write these down on another piece of paper or copy this off on your computer but give yourself space to answer these as specifically as possible. This is a time to be honest with yourself - NO FLUFF! Be real! Don't kid yourself here - this is the time for honesty!!!

So, here they are - again, be as specific as you can in your answers and feel free to share any input or discoveries that you may have while going through this process.

1. What preparations - if any - have I made to make this move?
a. do I understand that there very likely will be some "slow time" financially and have I made proper preparations (both physically AND mentally) for that fact? (physically refers to financially, too)
2. Have I prepared myself (mostly mentally) for those close to me that will likely question and criticize this move?
3. What happens if I DON'T make this move? (the old "pros and cons" scenario)
4. What happens if I DO make this move?
5. What happens if I make this move but I WAIT a little longer?

Only you can answer those questions and you likely know the answers without much hesitation.

Don't forget to join me for tomorrow's continued discussion entitled: "Barriers to Making the Move".

And remember....
"Make it an AWESOME Day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

Monday's Podcast: "Making the Move (Part 2)"

Greetings friends! Another "Magical Monday" is upon us and.....as I announced last week we begin a new phase with my "Future You University" podcasts by going to FIVE DAYS A WEEK!

Today I continue my discussion based on the interview that I had with Angie Strader during last Monday's podcast ("Making the Move") in which she shared information about the planning and preparation that went into Angie making her move. In this podcast I point out some specific things that Angie mentioned that are very important for ANYONE to consider in making their move!

This will be the "theme" for the week and I really invite you to do a few things this week:
1. Go back and listen to the interview in last Monday's podcast
2. Listen to today's podcast - TAKE NOTES ON ALL OF THE PODCASTS in this theme
3. Be sure to listen to the podcasts on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and, again, take notes on what is discussed. (I believe these will be invaluable to you sometime in your future!)
4. SPREAD THE VIRUS! What do I mean? Like a virus, spread the power of these podcasts by sharing them with a friend and encouraging them to do the same and on and on and on allowing this information to spread!

I need your help in this! I know that and I appreciate you in this effort. HOWEVER, I also want to encourage you to stop sitting idly by and to start SHARING this information IF you feel it is important in the lives of those around you.

Thing is - I KNOW the answer to that already. I KNOW that it is important and needed today like never before.

Thanks in advance for your help and ENJOY today's podcast! As always you can leave comments right here or you can shoot me an e-mail (mike@futureyouuniversity.com).

Don't forget, you can now follow me on Twitter! (http://www.Twitter.com/mikespillman)

Awesome! And, yeah, "Make it an AWESOME Day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT!!

Beginning Monday, April 13th I will be EXPANDING my podcast to 5 days a week instead of the 3 days a week that I have been doing!

I'm excited about this and hope that you will be able to join me for this expanded schedule.

Why this move? Simply put - I have too much to share to get it in with the short schedule!

I Need YOUR Help - Will You?

Hey guys, as I posted in a recent post - I'M MAKING MY MOVE but I need YOUR help in order to do so!

Here's the thing - I KNOW you're out there! *LOL* And I feel that I must be doing something right, something that you like, something that you believe in or you wouldn't be reading and/or listening. Am I right?

If so - please check out my info. about my first seminar on my website (www.FutureYouUniversity.com) and let me know what you think.

I have not given ALL of the things I want to do for those that attend this first seminar - but you will never regret spending $50 for attending. And, believe me, you will NEVER find a seminar that will be as value packed as what I am going to offer anywhere NEAR $50.

Can I let you in on a secret? I attended an event last summer - yes it was for more than 1 day but still pay close attention to the $$ (not bragging on what I spent, but do want to emphasize the value of what I'm doing)
The cost of the event was over $1,000 and the I spent another almost $2,000 for a program. This did not include the hotel stay and my meals.
Again, I'm not sharing that to brag - but to show you what I mean.

Yes, you'd have travel cost. Yes, you'd have motel cost. Yes, you'd have meal cost. But for an all-day seminar PACKED with good stuff (along with the life-time price freeze!!!!!) and all the other things I will do as part of the package --- HOW COULD YOU EVER EVEN COME CLOSE TO GOING WRONG?

Friends - I'm calling you to action! :)

Will you answer the call?

Mike

Now on "Twitter"

Wow, I have no idea how all of this works - but I am willing to LEARN!

But, I wanted to share this with all of you - here is my "twitter address" (and any help is appreciated! ;) )

"Wonderful Wednesday" - "Reconnecting"

This is a group photo of the friends I discuss in today's podcast on "Reconnecting" - a few of those that I graduated with in 1978.

One thing I point out in the podcast is the fact that I did not call this "Reliving". Why? Well, for one - I don't WANT to relive those days when I was a teenager! Were they bad? No. Were they horrible. Absolutely not! BUT, I don't want to go back and "live again" those days. I've moved on! I enjoy my life and have enjoyed every "stage" that I have been through in my life.

However, I CAN - and do want to - "remember", or "bring to memory again" those people, places and events that brought joy to my life. And, that being true, I also want to "connect once again" to these special people.

Obviously, I don't want to reconnect with people that brought nothing but discontent and negativity into my life. Nope. Not going to happen. But that's the wonderful thing about memories - WE CAN CHOOSE! Isn't that great?

Oh, I know that there are times we will run into such people - it's unavoidable - BUT if you have your mind set on the positive things and you KNOW that it's YOUR choice and you REFUSE to allow someone else to have any control over your thoughts and feelings - then it will be alright!

What about you? Are there people with which you've lost contact? Are there people with which you need to reconnect? Why not try to find them. Or, if you know where they are - why not contact them and say "hello"?

If they brought joy and value into your life - why not take advantage of the time you have TODAY to add that joy and value to your day - TODAY?

I think you'll be glad you did.

Oh, and, by the way....THANKS, Greg (and his wife Wanda), Fonda, "Cricket" and Tammy!

Magical Monday! "Making Your Move"

Hey friends! On today's podcast (as promised!) I share an interview with Angie Strader of www.TheWorldNeedsMoreHappy.com about the move she has made in her life.

Here's the thing - as you listen to this interview (perhaps even take notes) notice the PREPARATION that went into her move. Too many people think that they can just decide one day to "make their move" and they have not made the appropriate plans. Now, there's a whole other topic that can be discussed about times when that MAY be the right thing to do.

However, more often than not, it would be a very foolish thing to do. (Yet, if you even check those that just "up and walked away" I still can almost promise you'll find preparation!).

I am going to continue the discussion about this topic ("Making Your Move") on NEXT Monday's podcast (April 13) so we can discuss in further detail the ideas that ran through my head as I listened to this interview.

Check out Angie's site and drop her a note to let her know you were there and that MIKE sent you! No, I don't get anything for that - I just love sharing a friend's passion and purpose.

So, for you today - it's MAGICAL today because "As long as there is breath - there is hope!" and also because YOU have the ability to MAKE this an AWESOME day! Yes, YOU!

So, go do just that! Be sure to listen in Wednesday as I share thoughts on "Reconnecting". I have had the chance to reconnect with some good friends over the past couple of weeks and it has been wonderful.

Join the fun. Share the passion. Spread the word. The POSITIVE word found here at Future You University!

And....

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

Hey friends, thought I'd give you a "sneak peak" of what is coming this next week.

MONDAY, April 6th:
I will have a special podcast featuring an interview with Angie Strader of www.TheWorldNeedsMoreHappy.com I had the privilege of meeting Angie and her husband at the recent Success Symposium in Dallas. Here's the thing - Angie stepped away from a nice paying and "high profile" job to follow her dream. Wow! You will want to be sure to hear the interview on Monday.

WEDNESDAY, April 8th:
"Reconnecting" - I will be sharing some "joy" that I have been able to experience by reconnecting with some old friends. What about you? Is it time for you to reconnect with someone that you've not talked with for a while? Who would you like to say "hello" to again and what would you want to say? Perhaps it's as simple as "thank you". Join me for this great discussion.

FRIDAY, April 10th:
Another "Fun Friday" - do YOU have any fun ideas that you'd like to share with me? Send to me at mike@FutureYouUniversity.com - I'd love to hear them!

So, there you go - a little "sneak peak" for you. Thanks for your continued support - I appreciate you!

Mike

Here's MY Face Time Funny!

Hey now, I'm not going to ask you to do something that I'm not willing to do - so, based on what I shared with you in today's "Fun Friday" podcast, here is my entry!

I call it, "Face Time Smiley" - I'm laughing even now!!!
Hey, add some more fun and do this and leave your NOSE off!
If you are brave enough to add yours, send it to: mike@FutureYouUniversity.com
and I'll share it.

It's "FACE TIME" on "Fun Friday"!!

O.k....here it is, "Fun Friday" once again! And on today's podcast I try to share some things that will not only encourage you to laugh and smile WHILE listening to the podcast or even just today - BUT to take these things I share (especially today) and use them to share the smiles and the laughter as often as possible.

I'm not going to go into great detail on this post as to WHAT I share on the podcast (I want you to listen to it, y'know?) but I will tell you that this is something you can do by yourself, with one other person, with your family, your kids, or any group at just about any time.

And I can promise you that you and everyone else will be laughing HARD before this is all over.

Have you laughed today? Have you smiled today? Have you shared that laugh and smile with anyone?

You know, laughing and smiling by yourself is GREAT! It's a great way to start your morning off and it helps get you in the right frame of mind as you head out for your day.
HOWEVER, I do believe that beyond that - they are meant to be shared and shared often.

You've experienced it, haven't you? Perhaps you are in a grumpy mood and someone comes along that helps lift your spirits and helps bring a smile to your face? (Oh, I know, sometimes it's the wrong person and the wrong time and you just want to slap them, right? - yes, it's o.k. to laugh at that feeling too!)

Now, take that as a challenge - realize that YOU have the power to brighten someone else's day. Not in a "fake" way. Be real. Smile a "real" smile brought on by the joy that you have inside. Share a kind word, an encouraging word. And see what happens.

My wife is a "pro" at this. She has demonstrated this to me for years. Like everyone else, she has worked with some pretty "crabby" people from time to time. But she will determine that SHE will be the one to help change that by smiling, being kind and considerate and not allowing THEM to bring HER down. Instead, she is determined to bring THEM up! And, you know what? it works!

I have seen this happen with her time and time again. And, even when she just goes down to the grocery store she does this with those that come into contact with her up and down the aisles. She tells me how amazing it is and how many people seem to be "drawn" to her, just because of this attitude. (Hey, if you haven't done so, go back and read and listen to Wednesday's post and podcast on "Seek and Ye Shall Find").

So, SHARE YOUR JOY and HAPPINESS today!

Take the things I share with you in today's podcast and use them to spread the laughter! What a great thing to do!

And...as always....

"Make it an AWESOME Day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

Another "Thankful Thursday"

What a GREAT day!

Nothing is really unusual for me today. Nothing is really that different for me today.

However - I AM THANKFUL FOR TODAY! What about you? Are you? "Oh, I don't have anything to be thankful for!" you might think or even say.
Really? What about the ability to formulate that thought with your brain? Think about it. The ability to even put that thought together and even perhaps verbalize it is a GREAT SIGN that you are doing o.k. and that you have something for which to be thankful.

Check it out. We sing a song at church entitled, "Count Your Many Blessings" - and sometimes that is what we need to sit down and do. Perhaps you need to spend a little time today either actually sitting down or making some mental notes of things YOU have to be thankful for today.

When you do, when you realize that, indeed, you DO have things for which to be thankful - EXPRESS IT! Even if it's just you around, there is just something about expressing this out loud!

Yes! Be thankful! Today. Thankful Thursday. And EVERYDAY!

"Seek and Ye Shall Find"

In today's podcast I discuss the words of Jesus, "Ask and it shall be given to you, Seek and ye shall find, knock and it shall be opened." And, no, I didn't preach a sermon, but used this as a springboard to today's discussion - "Seek and Ye Shall Find"

Think about it - what are you searching for? What do you FIND in your life? If you find your life full of negative people, thoughts and ideas then perhaps you need to start SEEKING something better!

You will FIND what you are looking for! I share the story of a country store clerk that has a discussion with a gentleman coming in from out of town. He asks the store clerk (while the store clerk's son looks on) what kind of people live in this town. The store clerk replies by asking the man what kind of people live in the town from which he is moving. The gentleman talks of how wonderful they are and that they are loving and helpful. He was relieved to hear the store clerk inform him that this was exactly what kind of people lived in this town!
The next day, another gentleman comes in and, with the same situation confronting him, asks the store clerk (once again with his son watching) the same question which, in turn, received the same reply from the store clerk - "What kind of people live in the town from which you're moving?" This gentleman responded talking about how terrible these people were...mean, unkind and uncaring. This man was disappointed to hear the store clear inform him that this was exactly what kind of people lived in this town!
Confused, the boy asked his father (after the gentleman left the store) why he gave two completely different answers about the same town. "It's all in what you are looking for, son." the man replied. "If you are looking for nice people, you'll find them and if you are looking for mean and nasty people, that, too, is what you will find."

It's true in our lives as well! If you "wear your feelings on your sleeve" and take everything as an offense - guess what? Your day will be filled with feeling offended. All day. Every day.
Now, sometimes, this is a problem that may need to be worked out with some professional help. Some people have an attitude about themselves that they do not DESERVE anything better and, so, they DESERVE all of this negativity in their lives. (Ever know of a person that kept marrying the same type of destructive personality?)

So, you see, as is the case so often with these issues - THE CHOICE IS YOURS!

Are you familiar with "The Attractor Factor" or the "law of attraction"? I'm not sure I agree with every bit of it, but I DO agree that you attract what you exude.

Might I encourage you to decide once and for all to CHOOSE to FIND the GOOD and the POSITIVE that does, indeed, surround each one of us?

This is more important today than perhaps ever before in our lives!

What are YOU looking for? "Seek and ye shall find..."

Make it an AWESOME Day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)
