What Will YOU Allow?

"I wish I could lose weight..."
"I wish I could control my temper..."
"I wish I was more patient..."
"I wish I could get a promotion..."
"I wish I had more energy..."
"I wish I were more positive..."
"I wish I weren't so judgmental..."
"I wish my spouse wouldn't keep cheating on me..."
"I wish I could stop cheating on my spouse..."
"I wish I handled time management better..."

I WISH, I WISH, I WISH....

Look, again, at the graphic and read it OUT LOUD right now!

Pay attention! If you don't find your "I Wish" in that list above then apply whatever it is into the occasion - YOU KNOW WHAT IT IS and YOU KNOW that it exists!

As long as you ALLOW something to exist and survive in your life, it WILL continue!

As long as you keep making excuses, you will continue to ENABLE the existence of this weakness in your life!

Yes, you can be an ENABLER in your own life!

Friend, listen to the podcast (pick one of the two links below) for more on this.

YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS - YOU NEED TO READ THIS - YOU NEED TO FACE THIS!

Don't forget, "As long as there is breath, there's hope!" - it's never too late, friend.

Whatever you do, along the way, be sure to...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

DARE TO DREAM!

This is just a little teaser to get you thinking about the discussion and challenge to come...

11.20.12

DREAM...I dare you! Take a moment and write those things down that fit in the category, "WHAT IF?" and then DARE TO DREAM! Keep up with this - take steps to the point that you can then write down the fact that your "WHAT IF?" has changed over to, "IT IS!"

My wife and I came up with this idea today and PUT IT DOWN ON PAPER...awesome!

Now comes putting the "print into practice"!

Go Ahead, Make My Day!

I've always loved that line spoken by Clint Eastwood from the "Dirty Harry" movie - and so have many others.

And, yet, it actually goes against everything that I have been promoting and talking about for these past eight months or so. We CANNOT wait for someone else - or something else - to make our day! It is up to US - you and me - to make that happen in our own lives. Don't you agree?

I mentioned on today's podcast about a sign I saw one morning while watching a small segment of one of the national morning network news shows. I had just watched my local weather and the programming came back to the "crew" standing outside with people behind the barricades holding up signs. You've seen what I'm talking about, right?

One particular man held up a sign that asked people to go to his blog and to tell him what they wanted him to do for that day.

WHAT????? Are you kidding me?

Now, I do understand that he is trying to get attention for his blog, but what a miserable way to live your life - waiting for others to tell you what they want you to do. Waiting on someone else go "make your day" instead of YOU choosing to LIVE your day!

It's easy for us to point our fingers at a situation like that. It's easy for us to say, "Wow, how silly is that!" But, it's not always so easy for us to look inward and realize that many of us are doing the exact same thing in our lives.

Yes, I understand that you likely have a boss. Yes, I understand that there are certain things that you HAVE to do in order to keep your job. Yes, I understand that it is important for you to keep your job. I really do understand all of this, but may I remind you of a few things?

Even if your job is drudgery and you hate it - you can be having a "happy party" on the inside! No, really - I mean it! You see, we may be "controlled" concerning our physical activities during the day while on the job - but our soul, spirit and mind are FREE!

And, the more you fill those "pieces" of your being with POSITIVE thoughts - the easier it is to make it through even the toughest days!

"They" cannot control your thoughts - those positive thoughts - that can keep a smile on your face even during the toughest parts of your day! "They" cannot control your thoughts knowing that you are working on bettering your life to the point that, one day, you will be able to walk away from this situation! "They" cannot control what you do to fill your life full of peace and joy once you are away from the job.

Remember..."Never give up. Never give in. Never surrender!"

Do not be broken to the point that you are just a "machine" going through the motions waiting for the next thing that you are told/directed to do.

Step out of those dark shadows and allow the sun to shine on your face for, YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF YOUR LIFE!

No, that's not just a bunch of hype! I believe it to be 100% true!

Let me quickly share something personal that happened to me within the last hour. I just got off of a very frustrating phone call that really discouraged me concerning a project in which I am involved. Now -I HAVE A CHOICE! I can allow this to "burn" in me all day long and "ruin" my day OR I can CHOOSE to move on with my day and filter our the frustration with my POSITIVE deposits! I could even allow this to impact me to the point that I "quit" on this project and play the "blame game" as to why I did so.

However, I choose to move forward, committed to this project and the powerful things that I know it will bring to my life and the lives of others. IT'S A CHOICE!

It's YOUR choice!

So....Go ahead, make YOUR day!

And, as always...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

Thankful Thursday - "Start NOW!"

I have really enjoyed sharing additional information in my recent podcasts on the 5 points found in the FREE REPORT that anyone can receive on my website http://www.FutureYouUniversity.com

The last point that I cover in today's podcast is, "Start NOW!".

This really goes hand in hand with all of the other points and sums it up quite nicely --- stop waiting, stop wishing, stop making excuses about why you can't (love yourself, remember?) and know that you CAN and start now!

Whatever it is - start making the progress right now - today! What are you waiting for?

Improvements do not happen overnight! I just got off of the phone with a gentleman interviewing me for a program that will be made public soon (I'll let you know where to find it once that has happened) and we talked about this very thing in some of our discussion.

Too many times we look at someone that has excelled in their particular field - and we wish we could do the same or we want to do the same. The problem is, we often expect to reach their level of success right away. Here's the question that we must ask ourselves, "Are we willing to do what they did to get where they are?" And, honestly, most of us are not.

So, if we ARE serious about improving our lives (in whatever way you may think of) then it is important for us to realize that we MUST work on it every day and make progress each and every day.

This applies whether it be preparing yourself for a job promotion or even preparing yourself for a particular job, preparing to take your G.E.D. or preparing to go back to school to get another or a different degree OR stepping out in a whole new career. THIS APPLIES TO EVERY AREA!

So, stop waiting and START NOW - who else is going to do it for you? The answer - no one but YOU!

I'd love to hear any feedback/response that you may have on any or all of these 5 points that I have covered - you can leave them here or send me an email at mike@futureyouuniversity.com

And, as always, remember to...

"Make it an AWESOME Day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

KNOW That You Can!

When you listen to today's podcast (if you haven't already) you will be able to tell that I get very passionate about this topic. Actually, you will hear some frustration expressed about those that will do everything that they can to KEEP YOU from making positive progress in your life!

Think about it. Let's use the example of deciding to lose weight. You share your news with several of your "friends" and prepare to begin your journey. Likely, even at the mention of your plans you will have one of your "friends" (you may want to reconsider this label) drop a "negative grenade" on your plans. They may say something like, "Oh, why do you want to waste your time doing that? You're just like the rest of us - you can't lose weight!"
I know that, already, some of you are nodding your head because you've experienced this, haven't you?
And these so-called "friends" will continue to be negative anytime you share your progress. As a matter of fact, they will even share their negative comments even if you DON'T share your progress. For example, you walk into the office and they may say, "Hey, I thought you were on a diet? Have you started it yet?" They may even do things like offer you a piece of cake or a doughnut and then say, "Oh, I'm sorry, I forgot you were trying to lose weight!" NOTICE: They DID NOT forget! They are trying to sabotage your efforts - you can be sure of that!
And then they will whine and complain about the fact that they "need" to lose weight and about how they can't and they wish they could.
I think the Greek word for that is.... HOGWASH!

So, yeah, I do get a little upset at people like that. It makes it hard for anyone that tries to make a positive move in their life. By the way, you can use any example that you want, and the result will be the same - you will have others that are determined to keep you where they are. Why? For one, they don't want the "spotlight" shining on them and their inability to even produce the DESIRE to actually DO SOMETHING about the state of their lives.

I actually know of a husband that, in years past would actually unhook wires under the hood of his wife's car so that she could not do something that would improve her life. ARE YOU KIDDING ME??

So, it is important to instill this determination deep within -YES, YOU CAN! Although it may be hard you MUST block out these negative forces and, yes, you may even need to withdraw from the situation. Again, reconsider how much of a "friend" they actually are when, instead of encouraging you and being happy for you, they try to derail your efforts.

Sometimes we can't. Sometimes we live with them. And, yes, you need to sit down with them and try to talk to them about what they are actually doing (they usually already know it and will deny it). What do you do if they still don't listen?

LOAD UP ON THE POSITIVE!

Think of it as a scale that has two sides to show what object is heavier. You must do everything within your power to make sure that the POSITIVE outweighs the NEGATIVE!

The very fact that you are reading this shows that you are making an effort to do just that. If it's not enough - then find more positive things to incorporate into your life and RID your life of ANYTHING negative that will fight you in this effort to tip the scale in your positive side. Hint: pay attention to what you watch on t.v. and read in newspapers/magazines/on-line.

Again, it's up to you. We (you and I) cannot expect others to do it for us. Yes, there are friends that actually DO encourage us and help us along the way - aren't you glad? But, we still cannot rely on them to do it for us. It's up to us!

And, KNOW -- deep inside - KNOW THAT YOU CAN!

And, finally, always remember to...
"Make it an AWESOME Day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

Another "Wonderful Wednesday"!

Yes, even on "tax day" - it is a "WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY!" Say it with me now when I ask why that is so -- "As long as there is breath, there is hope!"
"Oh, but I owe more money in taxes than I have in the bank right now!" Are you breathing? Yes? Then take another breath and realize that you are ALIVE and that there is still HOPE no matter what the circumstances look like.
No, that doesn't mean that everything is always the way we wish they were (are they ever??) - but the very fact that we are taking a breath let's us know that we can and WILL survive!

Be sure to listen to today's podcast as I continue the discussion on "Making the Move". Today we look specifically at "Breaking Down the Barriers to the Move".

Really, this goes hand in hand with some earlier discussion we had about "Why Not Me?" and "Why Not Now?" Did you make a list way back then? If you did, find it, look at it and examine those "reasons/excuses" that you wrote down then as you consider the "barriers" that keep you from moving forward. If you did not make that list or have no idea where it is today - take a moment and do that - WHAT ARE YOUR BARRIERS?

How many of them can be summed up in the word, "FEAR"?

My guess is - when you look very closely that you will find the majority (if not all) of them coming under the heading of fear. We're AFRAID to move into the "unknown".

When did we learn that fear? Go back to when you were a kid and think about all of the things you did that were, at first, unknown. We have been TAUGHT fear.

So, share your thoughts - I'd love to hear from you (mike@FutureYouUniversity.com) or you can leave a comment here. Either way, I'd love to hear from you and discuss your barriers.

As I mention on today's podcast, as we discuss the "what if's" (usually all negative, such as "what if it doesn't work?") why not put a positive thought in there with them. WHAT IF THIS MOVE MAKES ME HAPPIER THAN I EVER DREAMED POSSIBLE?

Think about it. Dream it. Do it. And....

Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?
