People of Passion Series (1 - 3)

I recently began a new podcast series entitled, "People of Passion" and, as of this article, I've had 3 special guests for this series.

In this article I will simply be directing you to the podcasts that I have put together for this series to this point and I do hope you will take the time to listen in. Unless you know these people personally, you likely have never heard of them and that's exactly what I wanted.

These are "real", every day people that have impressed me with what they are doing in their lives to make an impact in their world.

My first guest for this series is Kim Tatum. She discusses her desire to "do something more" once she came to the point of retirement. Do YOU often feel that you are being "called" to do more than just sit by the wayside? GO HERE for this interview.

 

 My second guest for this series was BJ White. What interesting things she shared with me during this interview! Be sure to listen in with a very entertaining story about her and the number 7. I do still have a couple of people lined up that are working with me around their schedule and I hope to have them available in the month of September. One is a single mom that is involved in foster care in a very "real" way and the other is a gentleman that has experienced MASSIVE success in the online business world. You won't want to miss either of these!

I plan to do some other podcasts before I get a chance to have these last two interviews so be sure to be watching out for those.

The Timeline for "The Final 100"

O.k. folks, I have a major announcement about my podcast and, perhaps, even my blog coming in the very near future.

I recently recorded podcast #897. Believe it or not, this is way less that I thought it would be at this point based on the beginning on March 2, 2009. Yes, it IS a great accomplishment and, yes, I am proud of this accomplishment but I have decided that it is time to make some major changes to the podcast and, again, maybe even the blog.

I will record two more "regular" podcasts (898 and 899) and then I will record #900, the first of "The Final 100". Number 900 will be a preparation podcast detailing what is going to be taking place but I will give you a quick insight here.

If you have followed me since the beginning of this year (2018) then you know that I plan to be a part of the John Maxwell Team by the end of this year. Once I do that I will begin working on putting myself into a position of doing far more in the area of public speaking, etc.

Once I get to that point (starting to speak and do other things) I will then begin the completion of "The Final 100". Once I reach #1,000 I plan to stop with the podcasts - at least in the way that I've done them for the past nine years.

How long will it take before I do podcast #901? At this point I have no idea.

What does this mean as far as this blog? Again, to be honest, I have no idea.

Here's what I DO know...you can keep up with all of this by going to the fan page on Facebook.

"The Final 100" will more or less be a "re-launch" of the podcast and maybe even the blog.

Again, you will be able to keep up with the details via the Facebook link...be sure to do so and also be sure to stop by and make a comment from time to time.

My 500th Podcast "Aired" Today!

Now, for me, THAT IS AWESOME and I hope you'll join me in this little "mini celebration!"

Even though I got away from the podcast for a little while and even when I DID do one over the past year or so it was not consistently done - I believe it DOES still show a persistence and determination. And, oh, by the way - I AM back to doing it daily!

So, for anyone that may not know where to find this and that would like to take a peek and listen in (they range from 5 - 10 minutes in length) let me share with you how to access the podcast, o.k.?

The easiest way to tell you how to do so for the first time would be to direct you to my website, Future You University  - when you get there, click on the "video-cast" tab and in the upper right hand corner you will see the logos for iTunes as well as the RSS feed. Either one of those will take you to my podcasts.

Once you access it the first time you can subscribe to the feed in iTunes or via the RSS feed. I'd love it if you began to listen and follow along.

Now, by sheer accident, it is interesting that this milestone with my podcast takes place on the SAME DAY that the Empower Network is releasing it's NEW and AWESOME blogging format, known as the "Blog Beast"!

I look forward to utilizing this new tool to help take my website, blog, podcasts to the next level! I'm excited about the opportunity to FINALLY be able to earn $$ online without all of the hassle normally associated with setting up pretty much ANYTHING on the internet.

Connecting With My Podcast and Video-Cast

Hey friends, I'm thinking that many of you that follow this blog may not be aware of how to access my podcasts as well as my video casts.

For those of you that access this blog through my main site (www.FutureYouUniversity.com) then you should already be aware of how to access those valuable resources.

 

However, in case you DON'T access this blog through the site OR in case you just haven't taken the time, here's all you have to do:

 

     1. Access the main site listed above

     2. Click on the "video cast" link

     3. The videos will automatically show up on that page

     4. There are icons for iTunes and the RSS feed for the podcast

 

See? It's easy and I invite all of you to listen/watch when you get the chance.

Celebrating 400 Podcasts!

It's rather hard for me to really take this in when I think about it but, today, I am broadcasting my 400th podcast episode!

Oh, it could have been closer to 500 if I hadn't had to take my little break for about 6.5 months but....it is what it is and I'm still looking at 400 of these little messages designed to inspire and encourage.

Have I done so through this effort? I HOPE SO!

But, honestly, I'm not sure how much impact I've had simply because YOU are not letting me know. See what I mean?

I have enjoyed sharing my thoughts but, the truth is, I'm not sure how many people are actually "hearing" or "reading" these thoughts.

THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN!

I need to hear from you! I've said it before but, to be honest, it's kind of hard to keep doing this when I'm not even sure anyone is hearing the message. So...here's what I SPECIFICALLY need from you now (please do one or more of the following):

1. Get in the habit of leaving a short comment here on the blog letting me know that you enjoyed the message or share some of your insights like Tanya does quite often.

2. Please send me a note via one of the contact options found on the "contact" tab on the main website - http://www.michaelspillman.com/ - letting me know that you are listening and/or reading and that you are getting some benefit from this effort.

3. If you haven't done so, "like" Future You University (you can find the link to it on the "contact" tab on the above mentioned website) and then START or ADD TO a NEW TOPIC DISCUSSION on ways that you have been encouraged from what I'm doing here.

When the Going Gets Tough - Introduction

"When the Going Gets Tough - Introduction"

A couple of things first before I get on to the discussion on today's topic, o.k.?

First of all - I'M BACK, BABY! Oops, sorry for the burst of enthusiasm there (actually, no, I don't really apologize for it!). But, after a 6.5 month lay off from doing my podcast and, in conjunction with it, my podcast on a "regular" basis I've decided it's time to get back on track and "do this thing!"

It was two years ago today (March 2, 2009) that I began my very first podcast on "Hope" so I thought it appropriate to get it going again on the anniversary of this occasion.

(Too, let me also say "Happy Birthday" to my son, Jeremy today!!)

Let me tell you about something new that I'm doing WITH my daily podcast that some of you MIGHT find helpful. While I record my podcast I am also now video taping it as well.

Yeah, that's right, now you get to WATCH my beautiful face while I do the podcast. The good news? IT'S YOUR CHOICE! So, if you decide to do so... all bets are off, o.k.?

Now, that being said, I'm going to mention something about it before someone fusses about the "low tech" approach to the video. Hey, just watch the first one with this topic and you'll see what I'm talking about. Go to my YouTube channel to check it out:

Anyway, I start the thing out holding up a piece of paper with the "podcast logo" on it. Awesome, huh? Here's the deal. I have a real problem transferring these videos onto my "movie maker" without it freezing up on me. When I am able to use the "movie maker" I can add graphics (such as an actual "podcast logo graphic") as well as overlay website addresses, etc. on the video.

HOWEVER, when I try to do this with a video that is not broken down (like I had to do with my series on "The Promise of Hope") it freezes up and is unable to be used. So, at least for now until I get something else figured out, I need to just upload the video without using any kind of "movie maker" program. So, it's not "high tech" as far as visually BUT I do think it's of value "content-wise".

Here's a free little life lesson for you that connects with this: "PRETTY stuff doesn't always mean it's GOOD stuff!" Right? 'Nuff said about that. Let's move on to the topic at hand for today.

"WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH THE TOUGH GET GOING"

We've all heard that one before, right? And though it is a good "motivational" phrase that may be able to encourage some, it's not always true, is it?

Simply put, what about in YOUR life? Is this always true? Hey, you can answer honestly because I nor anyone else reading this can hear your answer.

We may WANT it to be true. We may FEEL THE NEED for it to be true so that we can live up to someone else's expectation of us. We may WANT IT TO BE TRUE due to our OWN expectations that we place on ourselves.

But, bottom line, it's NOT always true. We DON'T always get up and get going. We DON'T always have this powerful mindset firmly in place so that it may propel us forward with "guns a'blazing".

How does that make you feel?

For those that may be reading or listening to my thoughts for the first time you will soon discover this to be true - I'm real. What I mean by that is that you won't find a lot of "fluff" here. Just honest and, hopefully encouraging, thoughts and ideas.

Hey, but even though I hope the things I share here are encouraging that doesn't mean that it won't "hurt" sometimes. THE TRUTH OFTEN HURTS, right?

So, for the next few podcast and blog posts, I'm going to examine the FIRST PART of this phrase and look at some possible "ending phrases" that we all look at whether we like it or not.

"When the going gets tough..."

Celebrating My 100th Podcast!

Today (Tuesday, 8.4.09) I celebrate the broadcast of my 100th podcast!

I began my first podcast on March 2, 2009 (my middle son's birthday) and started out with a Monday-Wednesday-Friday format which soon turned into the five-days-a-week format that I now follow.

I share thanks on the podcast but I just want to say to all of you that listen - THANK YOU for doing so and for encouraging me with your kind emails and comments...they keep me going!

May I ask a favor of all of you? SPREAD THE WORD! We all need as much encouragement as possible and I encourage you to share this with as many people as possible. I try to keep it down to a very "manageable" time - 11 minutes to be exact - so that it doesn't take up too much time in your day.

Again, THANK YOU! My pledge to you continues to be the following:

Monday's Podcast: "Making the Move (Part 2)"

Greetings friends! Another "Magical Monday" is upon us and.....as I announced last week we begin a new phase with my "Future You University" podcasts by going to FIVE DAYS A WEEK!

Today I continue my discussion based on the interview that I had with Angie Strader during last Monday's podcast ("Making the Move") in which she shared information about the planning and preparation that went into Angie making her move. In this podcast I point out some specific things that Angie mentioned that are very important for ANYONE to consider in making their move!

This will be the "theme" for the week and I really invite you to do a few things this week:
1. Go back and listen to the interview in last Monday's podcast
2. Listen to today's podcast - TAKE NOTES ON ALL OF THE PODCASTS in this theme
3. Be sure to listen to the podcasts on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and, again, take notes on what is discussed. (I believe these will be invaluable to you sometime in your future!)
4. SPREAD THE VIRUS! What do I mean? Like a virus, spread the power of these podcasts by sharing them with a friend and encouraging them to do the same and on and on and on allowing this information to spread!

I need your help in this! I know that and I appreciate you in this effort. HOWEVER, I also want to encourage you to stop sitting idly by and to start SHARING this information IF you feel it is important in the lives of those around you.

Thing is - I KNOW the answer to that already. I KNOW that it is important and needed today like never before.
