It's Coming!

Sharing the potential numbers for "PROJECT 141" is still on it's way...it's just been delayed a little bit.

WHAT HAPPENED? Simply put, I got a little ahead of myself and put together some wrong projections that would have been very misleading...yeah, it happens with this old guy and I apologize. You may have even seen the video that I posted with those projections. As soon as I realized what I had done, I removed the video and all links to it as soon as I could.

I plan to put up the new video either tonight (Tuesday, 11.24.20) or tomorrow (Wednesday, 11.25.20) so be watching for it.

Once I get it posted I will add the link to the previous blog article that I have been using to direct those through every article and video up to this point.

Until then...

What Successful People Build

I'm not sure why more people don't understand this idea, but more sure need to!

When one hates, blames and complains they live in a vicious cycle. Think about it: those that are in "leadership" positions that conduct themselves this way do not get the results that are needed in order for them to be successful. Then, as a result of the disappointment and frustration of not being as successful as they would like, they increase their hate, blame and complaining which, in turn, makes it even worse.

Yeah, I know. How did people like this get in a leadership position in the first place and why do these people STILL get promoted at times? I really don't understand that myself but, this I DO know. They can get promoted BUT they will NEVER be as successful as they could be if the would conduct themselves on the "other side" of this equation.

Whether you are around to see it or not, these people WILL fail and they WILL fall. Sooner or later, it WILL happen.

So, enough of that. Let's look to what SUCCESSFUL people build.

Sure, they may build buildings and big businesses BUT, first and foremost, they build PEOPLE!

Notice what the graphic points out: they motivate, inspire and push each other along (in a POSITIVE way). They build each other up!

You KNOW that this works, don't you? Don't YOU want to work harder with/for people like this? Doesn't this type of person cause you want to GIVE your best, DO your best and BE your best?

OF COURSE THEY DO!

That's why they are successful and they, too, are in a cycle but, not the same type of vicious cycle that those on the unsuccessful side experience. Those that are successful by conducting themselves in this way live in a continuous cycle of promotion, positivity and progress.

"Yeah, but I treat people that way and I'm not successful like them!"

Sure, you may not be in the same position that they are, but know this:
     - You ARE successful buy living this way and treating others in this way
     - Don't forget that they did not get where they are in a single day
     - "Success" can have many different meanings in life

Bottom line, it's just a better way to live (and it's more fun, too!).

So, build the way SUCCESSFUL people build and be sure to...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

Got Passion?

If you're like me, when you read this quote from Dave Ramsey (he is an AWESOME guy!) you want to agree with it but, at the same time, you can't figure out how to make an income from your "passion". Anyone else out there with me?

It's absolutely true! As it's been said before, "Find something that you LOVE to do and get paid for it and you'll never 'work' a day of your life!"

I can hear someone say, "I love ice cream but I don't think I can make a living due to my love of ice cream!"  Well, that may be stretching it a bit BUT, at the same time, I think it CAN be used on your path to success!

Huh?

Stay with me here...

What I'd like to suggest is that you bring your "passion" to your work REGARDLESS of what you do for work and whether or not you love what you do or not.

Perhaps your passion is making people smile and feel better about their day - take that passion to work with you and watch what happens. Make it a habit of using that passion at your place of work and see what changes take place in your life and the life of those that are around you while at work.

Perhaps your passion is working with children in your town or city. Maybe you can bring that passion to your workplace, get your co-workers on board because you ARE so passionate about it and get them involved - along with your boss - in getting your company to help raise money in some fun and involved way!
Do you think that, MAYBE, those in management might notice your ability to sell an idea and get others involved?

Now, about that ice cream... What if you took that passion to work by picking out one person per week to reward with some ice cream? Come up with some fun "award" or "achievement" and go with it. I wonder what will happen to your workplace environment by sharing your passion for ice cream?

I'm telling you, friend....BRING YOUR PASSION TO WORK (and take it with you everywhere you go) and see if it will, indeed, become a part of your "path to success".

As an added note, I found it very interesting that, after I recorded the podcast version of this topic earlier today (DO go listen to the podcast via one of the two links below) I ran across an article about a 12 year old "kidpreneur" (he started when he was 9 years old) that has a passion of his own about bow ties. That's right, bow ties!
Here's a quote from the article that you can read here: "...His advice for other young entrepreneurs? 'Figure out what you like doing and then figure out how to make money doing it.' "

Love and live your passion. Make it a part of your everyday life and incorporate it into everything that you do both at work and away from work and I believe that your path to success WILL become clear!

And, as you do that, be sure to...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

T.I.M.E.

                                Tomorrow  It  May  End

I know, I know. Some of you are still thinking after yesterday's blog article that I am on some sort of negativity kick.

Not at all.

As a matter of fact, I am on a major MOTIVATIONAL kick! That's right - if the fact that time is passing by and can never be reclaimed doesn't or won't get you motivated then, friend, NOTHING will!

I talk to people every day that "say" they are serious about the need to make a change in their lives. I have people tell me literally every day that they are ready and willing to do "whatever it takes" in order for those changes to take place in their lives.

But, the truth is this: few ever take action.

And, yes, that is their choice but, one day - one of the days that these people still allow to pass by - will be their last day and then there will be no more chances or opportunities to better the lives of their family.

At least not for THEM to have the opportunity to impact that change.

Most people - at least those that have families - say that they desire to make a change for their family. They say that they want to make a difference in the type of lifestyle that they (their family) are living and also they say that they want to improve the future for their family.

That is an awesome "why" or "reason" for wanting to make a change.

Yet, so many people let days, weeks, months and years continue to pass by without ever really making that change happen for them and/or their families.

The short conversation that I had with a lady today brought all of this to mind. Now, realize that I do understand that she was more or less "brushing me off" but, still, it was quite interesting.

I simply asked this lady - who had been visiting my work from home business website - if she had a pen and paper handy to write a couple of things down. Her response was, "No, I don't right now." I then asked if she could go ahead and get one and she said, "Well, could you give me about an hour?"

Now, again, I know she was just "blowing me off" but it still stuck out to me that she was actually using the excuse that she needed an hour to look for a pen and a piece of paper.

See what I mean?

Real or not, the idea of "call me back in an hour" in order to pass up information that could possibly change her life is so common. Yes, I understand that once you fill out information on line that you receive a lot calls and other contact and it can get burdensome, but that is not the point that I am making in this article.

How many times do you find yourself saying that you need to do something and that you'll "do it in minute" only to find the rest of the day pass by without that particular thing getting done?

"Tomorrow it may end."

TODAY is all that you have. RIGHT NOW.

I've heard others say it but I do remember hearing the late Jim Rohn say it as well: "No matter what you do, five years are going to come and go. YOU decide what happens during that time." (That is a not an exact quote).

So, what are YOU waiting for?

Oh yeah, I still hear that train that we talked about in the last article! You had best "get on", "get out of the way" or "get run over".

Your move.

And as you contemplate that move, be sure to...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

"Pep Talk in Every Drop"

It’s amazing what positive things you find around you if you just take the time to look.

Case in point: My wife has had a nasty little cough for the past several days and today – after going through SEVERAL of these cough drops over the past few days – she noticed that inside the wrappers of these cough drops were little sayings. As a matter of fact they were labeled as “Pep Talk in Every Drop”!

Pretty awesome, right?

So, in one little wrapper were three little sayings with a positive message. Let’s take a quick look at each one, shall we? O.k. we shall (thanks for your permission!). :)

Two of them go hand in hand as you will see: “Push On” and “Power Through”.

That really goes “hand in hand” with my short, but to the point, blog from yesterday about life slapping you down. IF YOU WAN TO SUCCEED IN ANYTHING IN LIFE THEN YOU MUST BE ABLE TO “PUSH ON” AND “POWER THROUGH”!

And then the other one is my favorite of the three: “Take Charge and Mean It!”

Quit talking about “taking charge” and “making changes” and DO something about it like you MEAN it! (Yeah, I’m talking to myself too, o.k.?).

I mean – hey – isn’t it time?

And, while you ponder those “Pep Talks in Every Drop” be sure to…

“Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)”

On the Right Track?

On the Right Track?

Today's quote comes off of a plaque my daughter-in-law found in a restaurant store the other day. Here it is:

"Even if you're on the right track you'll get run over if you just sit there!"

You see, it is a WONDERFUL thing to KNOW that you are on the right track! This indicates that you have been doing a lot of things in the RIGHT way to ensure your success!

You've stayed on course and kept focused on the path that will lead you to your goals and dreams!

However, sometimes (going back to what we talked about last week) the fear of making a mistake and maybe getting OFF course and OFF of the right track - even momentarily - can paralyze us to the point of not making any progress at all!

So, we may be on the right track but we're not making any movement ALONG the track toward our goals and dreams!

And, if we do that long enough, that train is going to come along and run us over and likely knock us OFF of that track!

So, being on the right track is not enough, is it?

We can "feel good" about being there, but "feeling good" ain't going to get it done (as we say down South)!

So, keep reading those positive books and articles, keep listening to those positive podcasts and CD's or MP3's and keep your eye on your goals and dreams so that you DO move toward them each and every day.

Exciting? YES! Scary at times? YES!

But, hey, it's YOUR life! Why not "go for it"?

And, as you do...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

How Did You Get Here?

Have you ever gone into a room and then forgot why you went into that room in the first place?

Oh, believe me - if it hasn't happened to you yet, it will! I have found that, the older I get, this seems to happen more often. And I don't like it!

Once, when I was in college, I took some sort of physical education class that involved a game played on a football field (I don't remember the name of the "sport") and combined elements of football, basketball (you could "dribble" the ball) and soccer. Really, it did! At one point in the game as I dove to make a spectacular catch in the end zone I struck my head on a telephone pole that was in one corner of the field.

The next thing I was aware of was my teacher leaning over me asking how many fingers she was holding up (yes, people really DO that) and my classmates all crowded around and looking at me as well. I knew how many fingers she had up but that was about ALL I knew! Class was dismissed and as I sat on the bleachers with my girlfriend I kept asking her why everyone was leaving and what had happened. I know I had to have gotten pretty annoying because I kept asking the same thing over and over again - "Why is everyone leaving? Why is class over? What happened? Where did I get this knot on the back of my head?"

I had no idea why I was no sitting on the bleachers instead of still participating in the game.

Now, that's excusable, right? I mean, I did receive a concussion and had a legitimate reason not to have any idea how I got where I was.

So, now let's get to the point of today's discussion...how did you get where you are today?

Again, when you look at the timeline of where you were when you began your journey to improve your mindset and your life and the desired destination on the other end...when you honestly determine WHERE you are you have to determine a few things about this discovery.

One of them - the point of today's discussion - is, how did you get here? How did you arrive where you are?

You may discover that you have not moved very much at all - WHY? What is it (the "how") that has caused you to move so little?

Let's hope that you have not found that you are actually in a "negative" situation. What I mean is a situation where you find that you have actually gone backwards in your journey. Even if that is so, you really should be asking yourself, "WHY did that happen and HOW did that happen?"

I saw a sign a couple of weeks ago that really hit it on the head. It read:

"You Are Where You Have Been Going"

Straight and to the point, wouldn't you agree? You see, when we get rid of all the excuses and quit playing the "blame game" we are left sitting alone with ourselves in this situation.

We are where we are because of the steps that we have - or have not - taken.

Often, when we lose or misplace an item we will go back and retrace our steps in an attempt to find that item, right? We will think about where all we have been and we will go back to each place - perhaps in the house - with the intention of finding that item somewhere along the way.

This is exactly what we need to understand in this situation. It is IMPORTANT to figure out WHY and HOW we got to where we are and the way to do that is to retrace our steps along the way.

Confucius said, "A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step." You are where you are because of the steps you have taken - or, again, NOT taken - along the path of this journey.

This is not always easy to accept! We don't like to admit our failures or that we have just been "lazy" in the process!

Hey, remember...the EASIEST thing to do is to give up and just slip back in to the "same ol', same ol' " - know what I mean?

Making a change in our lives (beginning with our minds) is a HARD process! It ain't easy!

The easiest thing to do is to follow the path of least resistance - DO NOTHING and go back to what you were doing before.

But think again about WHY you decided to make a change in the first place. REMIND yourself of that "why" - hopefully you wrote it down somewhere. If so, go back and read it again and get motivated to get back on your journey!

Tomorrow we will discuss the question, "Are you HAPPY with where you are?".

Be sure to join me on my NEW "High Five" podcast and then follow along in the blog.

Hey, all along your journey, be sure to...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"
