Don't WANT It?

Be sure to go back and read all of the preceding articles in this series that started with, "SEE IT - WANT IT - GET IT" and follow through step by step. ESPECIALLY make sure you read the article right before this one because they definitely connect.

I've actually met some people, in my lifetime, that have said that they truly have no desire for any improvement or change in and for their life. They were completely satisfied with where they were and, you know what? THAT'S O.K. These people that I'm talking about weren't lazy. They were simply satisfied with where they were in life.

But, I've ALSO talked to some people that said the same thing and they were barely getting by and their family (spouse, kids, etc.) was suffering because of this mentality and, yes, they WERE lazy and were satisfied with the government stepping in to help them barely survive.  Honestly, for the most part, THAT mentality is very difficult to overcome if it's possible at all.

And, finally, I've heard people say that they "Don't Want It" ("it" being something better) because they didn't fully believe that "it" was really even possible for them. As talked about in the last article, they DON'T (or CAN'T) See 'IT" so they don't even really know if they want it. Why? YOU CAN'T WANT WHAT YOU CAN'T SEE and YOU CAN'T SEE WHAT YOU DON'T SEE!

For many that find themselves in this situation that I mentioned in this last paragraph, there still seems to be "something" that burns within them that causes them to wonder if, indeed, they should even dream or desire of something better and if they COULD ever even possibly live their dream or desire.

YES, YOU CAN!

Now, let's be real here. A lot of that does depend on some level of practicality, right? For example, I'm 66 years old and if I said my desire was to still play in the NBA then...uh...well, grandpa, you might want to sit down and us have a little talk! BUT, even at 66, if my desire is to have SOME sort of connection with the NBA then there might actually be some things that I might be able to accomplish and reach that goal and dream. (By the way, I don't have that desire).

Fact is, too many are "afraid" to actually believe that it's possible. Maybe you've been told by family and friends that you just settle for "your lot in life" and don't expect anything better. Maybe you've expressed such a desire and were met with words such as, "Who are YOU to think you can do better? Who do you think you are??" and so, you just put that desire and dream back in the closet.

Maybe - over the years - you've simply given up to where you CAN'T SEE IT any longer and, as a result, you DON'T WANT IT any longer.

So, yeah, just as this graphic states...WAKE UP and PAY ATTENTION!

I have been telling you - encouraging you - OFFERING you the opportunity for you to join my FREE community on Skool ("Finish What You Start") to join up with me PERSONALLY and to begin to get the help and guidance you likely need to REGAIN YOUR VISION and your FOCUS to move toward your dreams and desires.

Now, I don't know that I've ever done this in my blog article but, I just stepped away from my writing and, when I sat back down to finish up, I felt a real "push" to share something with you spiritually. I'm not talking about the world's idea of "mystical/spiritual" but spiritual as in your souls relationship to God. I am a minister/preacher and I feel that there is someone - RIGHT NOW - reading this that NEEDS to hear this same idea/approach when it comes to your relationship with God because you have begun to feel that you CAN'T want something better in your relationship because you are a "failure" spiritually.

Friend, listen to me...if that's you, that is a LIE FROM SATAN himself! I'm just going to share a link with you from a sermon I did just this past Sunday where I simply go through God's Word (the Bible) and share the thought of "Seeing Yourself Through God's Eyes". And, yes, I can help you with that as well. Here's the link:  https://youtube.com/live/bVkEV6unBVg?feature=share

Once again,  the ball is in your court - it's your CHOICE.

Hangin' Around Like a Lost Pup?

What you see in the picture above is a shirt that my wife got for me a couple of years ago (maybe even three?) for Father's Day. Actually, it's one of two.

Why do I have a picture of the front of a shirt that my wife got for me a few years ago posted here? Because it is almost EXACTLY the same picture that I have used for our new travel business as a "cover photo" on our Facebook page!

"Oh, o.k.", you say but, let me tell you more. This whole "beach" scene that you see on the shirt and, if you go to the FB page that I talked about, is something that has been "hangin' around like a lost pup" for probably 10 years or so.

That's right, this type of picture has been my "dream image" for a very long time. It keeps popping up all over the place reminding me of this fact. On my other computer (where I do the mixing for my podcast) is a similar scene that I see nearly every day yet, it just "popped out" at me the other day. I can even go back and find images from, like I said, 10 years or so ago, and find the same type of picture.

The picture that I posted in yesterday's article from one of our vacations back in 2002 is one of my favorite all-time pictures. BEACH PICTURE!

Little did I or my wife know that, when she bought me this shirt (I actually picked it out and told her that would be a good gift) that we would now be promoting this type of picture as a REALITY!

Why do I bring all of this up? Because, friend, I want to ask you: WHAT IS YOUR DREAM IMAGE and WHERE HAS IT GONE?

Maybe you are right on track with it and getting closer to achieving it every day. Maybe you HAVE already achieved it and you are celebrating life due to that fact. But maybe, just maybe, you have lost your focus and allowed the weight of the world to cause you to put that "dream image" aside and pile a bunch of other stuff on top of it to where you don't even know it's there anymore.

Have YOU been getting little "pop up" reminders that it's still there? Have you ignored those reminders with the thought of, "Nah, it's just not going to happen"?

Have you ever actually had a lost pup hang around your house before? THEY DON'T GO AWAY SO EASILY! Maybe your "dream image" is not giving up so easily either, friend.

Perhaps you should allow yourself the privilege of opening your eyes, ears and mind to how many times this "lost pup" DOES actually "pop up" to remind you of what you once longed for and decided to strive for.

Allow that for yourself and, friend, you will then find yourself beginning to dream again and even beginning to believe that it IS possible after all.

Please be sure to check out our Facebook travel page and, while you're at it, "LIKE" it and leave a comment. You may even be entered into a contest to actually WIN a vacation on us. Shoot, you can even go there and post YOUR "dream image" if you'd like. Or, if you prefer, you can post it on my Future You University Facebook page.

Either way, stop ignoring that lost pup, would ya', and begin to dream and live once again.

Until next time, be sure to...

DARE TO DREAM!

This is just a little teaser to get you thinking about the discussion and challenge to come...

11.20.12

DREAM...I dare you! Take a moment and write those things down that fit in the category, "WHAT IF?" and then DARE TO DREAM! Keep up with this - take steps to the point that you can then write down the fact that your "WHAT IF?" has changed over to, "IT IS!"

My wife and I came up with this idea today and PUT IT DOWN ON PAPER...awesome!

Now comes putting the "print into practice"!
