For These Plans to Work - This Is What Is Needed

It's as simple as that... SPREAD THE WORD.

If you haven't done so, be sure to read the LAST article that I posted a few days ago. It simply discusses the idea that we CANNOT GIVE UP, regardless of how hard 2020 has been to this point.

It also hints at the fact that I'm working on some things that MIGHT provide you - and anyone that cares to pay attention - with a way (or ways) to be able to change your financial outlook for 2021 no matter what happens with jobs, etc. due to the pandemic.

But, as stated in the very first sentence of this article, the ONLY WAY that this will work is with NUMBERS and, friend, those numbers will come ONLY if you spread the word to as many people as you can.

To be honest, I'm basically starting from scratch as far as followers in this area. Oh sure, I have a few here and there and I've lost a LOT over the years due to having to step back from time to time. But, you know what? WITH YOUR HELP those numbers can increase quickly which, again, is the ONLY WAY that this whole thing will work.

Will you help me? I know I haven't told you the details yet. But I encourage you (if you have never really seen any of my "stuff") to go back and look over some of the articles that you will find listed for my blog articles. Go to the links that you find below and watch some of my videos that are on YouTube, go listen to some of my podcasts that I have done and even go take a look at my Facebook page.

And share THAT information as well.

Here's what I need you to do RIGHT NOW -> Leave a comment below this article OR (preferred) go to my FBook page (link below) and leave me a comment saying that YOU WILL HELP SPREAD THE WORD about my plans for a better 2021.

This is where it starts. If I can't get you to do THAT for me and indicate that you actually READ this and are planning to SPREAD THE WORD then, friend, it's just not going to happen.

So yeah, I NEED YOUR HELP and I will do al I can to HELP YOU as well.

Deal?

Always remember, whatever you do, be sure to...

Today, I Will Do My Best To Be...

"Today, I Will Do My Best to Be HONORABLE, TRUSTWORTHY and PLEASING TO GOD."
If you've not done so already, be sure to go to the podcast (links found below) and listen as well as reading this article. Same topic, yes, but additional material that you can only get by listening to the podcast version on this topic.

Right off, let's get this "out there" - I'm a believer and, much of what I do and say, reflects that belief as well as my Faith. But, even if you don't believe what I do or as I do, you can still benefit from what I'm going to share with you today.

The phrase that you see highlighted right below the graphic is actually the phrase that you see the red arrow pointing to and the red box around, on my white board. Yep, that's an actual picture of my white board and some of those things on there have been there for quite some time. Sure, feel free to enlarge that picture and take a look around - I'll be sharing each of those things with you over the next several podcasts.

Let me give you a little background information on how this phrase came to be. Again, listen to the podcast to get the "full version". Basically, during a time period that one of my boys was going through in which he was struggling with telling a lie as opposed to the truth, I had him writing sentences as a form of punishment. I also wanted it to be a learning process BUT the lesson that I was teaching at the start of this process was not what I really wanted him to learn. And I didn't catch that fact right away.

Pretty much, I had him writing that he was a liar and that it was not good to be a person that no one could trust or believe. Now, overall, I think that is a powerful lesson that all young people need to understand and learn. Too many people think that it is o.k. to lie and not be honest and they don't think (or, many times, even care) what the consequences are to their life and the lives of those around them.

But, here's what got me. I finally realized that I was having him state these words into his mind and mindset - "I am a liar..." Our words are so powerful and I was making the mistake of directing him to speak these words of defeat into his life.

So I came up with a different approach - the phrase that you see featured for today's article.

Yeah, he still had some sentences that he need to write as part of his punishment/discipline but, now, instead of speaking words of defeat into his life, I now had him writing down a positive affirmation and commitment to strive for something better. And, as part of that process, to BECOME someone better.

Let's take a quick look at a few components of this powerful phrase...

"Today" - The time is NOW! We have no promise for tomorrow and yesterday is history so, in reality, all we have is TODAY and THIS is the day that I will take steps forward in my journey.

"I" - No one else to blame. No one else to expect to do it for you. It's up to me. I am the one responsible and I will be the one to take the needed action in and for my life!

"Will Do My Best" - I'm not striving to be perfect but to simply do my best and to try to be my best. It doesn't mean that I'm taking the easy way out but, rather, that I am committing to actually DOING MY BEST in this endeavor. If I fail and come up short, I will pick myself back up, dust myself off, and continue on striving to "do my best".

"Honorable" - To be HONORABLE is to be a person of HONOR and respect. I am dedicated to living my life (to the best of my ability) as a person "of honor" or a person that strives to live, act, think, and speak in a way that lifts ME up as well as those that are around me.

"Trustworthy" - I want to be a person of trust or a person that can be trusted. I strive to be a person that others KNOW that my word is truth. In other words, I want to be a person that, for one, that doesn't have to make all kinds of silly "I-swear-by-this-or-that" statements to try to get people to believe me. I don't want to have to try and remember what I said to one person or another to make sure that I don't contradict myself. I want to be known for truth - pure and simple. I also want to be one that others know that they can depend on me and that what I say I will do, I will do. Period.

"Pleasing to God" - For me, I want to honor my Maker by doing my best to please Him and live by His ways. In my opinion, living by His ways will make me a better person and a person that brings more value to those around me. For me, striving to be "pleasing to God" calls me to a level of commitment that I need to help me rise up to a higher level for myself. Make sense?

Bottom line: Adapt this however you need to do so but, whatever you do, COMMIT TO BEING A BETTER VERSION OF YOURSELF EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Starting today. Right here and right now.

Once again, if you haven't done so yet, you need to listen to the podcast on today's topic. Just click one of the links at the bottom of this article to do so. There is SO MUCH MORE information and additional thoughts that I share with you there that is not found in this article.

If you listen by going to iTunes, please take a moment and leave a review - I thank you in advance! Also, be sure to stop by the FYU fan page on Facebook and let me know that you left that review AND to just say "hello" and let me know that you are benefiting from Future You University

As always, THANKS for joining me today and, please, share this with as many as possible and always be sure to keep moving forward, closer to your dream!

And, until next time, whatever you do,  be sure to...

YOU Are the Key!

Lessons From 'The Board' - Part 1

Not a very fancy graphic, is it? It's actually a little ugly, even!
That is a picture of a piece of paper that I have had posted to my "power board" since around 2003. Yeah, that long. What's a "power board"? Different people may call it by different names but, for me, this is one of the places where I post things like this - things that I need to SEE and NOTICE on a daily basis.

Over the next few articles I will be sharing other such "notes" from my "power board".

However, let me suggest something different for you as far as WHERE to place it...especially this one. PUT IT ON YOUR MIRROR and read it out loud to yourself EVERY day as you look at yourself in that mirror.

This quote came from the late, great, Jim Rohn. I am so glad that I had the chance to hear him speak in person on several occasions before he passed away.  I LOVE just about anything and everything that is connected to Jim Rohn.

Let me ask you a question: Do you want a "better" future? Do you DESIRE a better future?

I would assume that you would say "yes" to that question. I'm not sure why anyone wouldn't say "yes" when asked that question. We ALL want something "better" for our future.

If you're not sure about how to answer that for fear that you may sound ungrateful or greedy, maybe I can ask another question that will clear that up quickly. Do you want something WORSE for your future?

I didn't think so.

Now that we have that cleared up, let's get to the bottom line here: YOU.

That's right, Mr. Rohn gets right down to it in this quote...YOU are the MAJOR key in this desire and YOU are the MAJOR key in this becoming a reality. Sure, there are other factors that may be involved but, notice the word "MAJOR". You are the MAIN ingredient in this process.

There are many things that YOU can do or many ways that YOU have the ability to direct this course. I'm not going to address all of those in this article but, if you want a hint, go back and read as many of my articles as you can. Look up and read as many articles and books by people like Jim Rohn as you can.

Since YOU are THE MAJOR KEY to your better future then you need to realize that improving your mindset is one of the most important things that you can do.

It starts there but it does not end there. It is a CONTINUAL process.

Follow me? It is a never-ending process that continues day after day. And, as you continue to fill your mind with this positive information, you will GROW and, in the process, become a better person.

And, friend, that enables ANOTHER process to take place. Join me in the next article and I'll share that process with you. You guessed it - from another posting that I have on my "power board".

And, yeah, I've had it posted there since around 2003, as well.

Until next time...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

The World Needs YOU!

Don't be overwhelmed when thinking of this.

It's like I said on the podcast (links below) - this doesn't mean you have to strive to be the owner of a huge, nationally known business or anything like that.

Nope.

It simply means that YOU become who you were MEANT to be! (Just as it says above from Dani Johnson).

"To become" indicates an ongoing process, does it not? "To become" indicates that you are continuing the process and that it is not done as of yet.

I would even suggest that this is a process that NEVER ends as long as we live. We ALL continue to "become" the person we were meant to be each and every day.

Too many times we settle for less instead of striving for more or to be better.

Whoever you are, whatever your "lot in life" - do all that you can to improve a little each day so that you can become a "better" version today than you were yesterday.

Become the Dad you were meant to be. Become the Mom you were meant to be. Become the husband, the wife, the son, the daughter, the brother, the sister, school teacher, bus driver, garbage collector, etc. that you were MEANT to be!

"Wait, you mean I was MEANT to be a garbage collector?" Not necessarily. Sure, it is something that is NEEDED in our society and, if that is what you do for a living, you should become the best you can be at that job.

Here's the bottom line. You may not be doing what you were MEANT to do yet. You may go through years of doing other things before you find THE thing that you feel you were meant to do. But, here it is...are you ready?

BECOME THE BEST "YOU" THAT YOU CAN.

THIS is what you were meant to be! The best YOU.

Stop trying to be like someone else. The world needs YOU to be the best YOU that there is.

Do that and I believe that the rest will take care of itself.

This is but another reason that it is so important for you to immerse yourself in as much positive material as you possibly can. You and I need all the help that we can get in becoming a better person each day.

You CAN do it....it's all up to you, friend.

Be sure to...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

Making Yourself Better

(be sure to check out the podcast on iTunes or on the RSS feed)

"Don't wish it were easier, wish you were better." - Jim Rohn

We've talked a LOT about the fact that we live in a world that craves "easy". A lot of people - it seems especially so with our youth - see other people being successful in many different ways and they want to have the same thing without doing anything to "earn it".
Young boys (and girls) of all ages want to become a professional athlete but aren't willing (and don't even understand how much) to put in the hours and hours and years of hard work in order for that to even be a possibility. For years now I have watched young couples get married and go immediately into a lot of debt so that they can live in as nice - if not nicer - house than their parents and have at least as nice - if not nicer - furnishings IN that house. All the while not realizing that it took their parents years in order to provide those things for themselves and their family. Thousands of people flock to Hollywood or Nashville hoping to be the next great thing. They've read stories of some that were discovered working as a waiter or a waitress or while singing on a street corner and they think that it really IS that simple and easy. They don't realize how FEW that "few" really is when compared to the thousands that seek the same fame. It's not easy so they quit and give up.
"Don't wish it were easier, wish you were better." What a great quote to have posted on the front of every high school yearbook or, better yet, diploma.
Easy is easy. Wow, that was obvious, wasn't it? But, because "easy" is so easy, ANYONE can do it and many ARE doing it. "Easy" is the job that is labeled "entry level position" and usually has the lowest hourly wage attached to it. Interestingly enough, even though ANYONE can do it, there are many that will NOT do it because it is "beneath them". They want the "management" without the hassle of WORKING their way up to that position. They want the bigger paycheck but without actually EARNING that paycheck.
Does that describe YOU? I hope not but, let's be real here, it's not just the young people in our world that follow this "easy" philosophy - many times they learned it from us in the first place!
This is the lure of the "get-rich-quick" schemes that are so prevalent today.
Now back to the diving board scenario that I have used all week long. Many will watch a skilled diver do some amazing things as they leap from that high dive and enter the water with very little splash. Yet, again, not many are willing to put in the hours of work that it took that person to develop that skill. Here's a hint - when things LOOK easy that usually means that someone has put in the time and effort to develop the skill to make it appear so!
Whatever it is that you are searching for...whatever it is that attracts you...seek to become BETTER in order to succeed rather than wish for it to be EASY. Remember, anyone can do easy. Is that what you really want? I didn't think so.
Join me again tomorrow as I finish out this week's articles featuring quotes by the late Jim Rohn. But, until then, be sure to...
"Make it an AWESOME day!"

The Search for Something BETTER

Something Better?

"The starting point of all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind.
Weak desire brings weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat." - Napoleon Hill

My guess is that YOU have asked this question to yourself many times in the past, haven't you? And, my guess would also be that if you HAVE asked yourself this question in the past that you are STILL asking yourself this question even now - TODAY.

Am I right?

There just seems to be "something" in us that always wants to strive for something better. There just seems to be "something" in us that BELIEVES that there IS something out there better than what we have or what we are doing right now.

Now, first of all, there are two extremes with this and any other proposed thought such as this. On one end of the spectrum we have those who have either LOST that desire or, for whatever reason, it was never instilled in them in the first place. Many times if the latter is true it is due to parents that never encouraged this person as a child to strive for something better and to not EVER settle for less than your best.

We see this type of situation around us every day and it is frustrating to see people that have NO DESIRE to better themselves even though - many times - they are living sub-par lives and often doing so off of the government.

The other extreme to this scenario would be those that are NEVER satisfied and are ALWAYS wanting more. That is as much of a danger as the one that has NO desire at all. We see this around us every day as well - regardless of what they have or what their situation, it is never good enough and they think that there is something better out there. Oftentimes, their relationships also exhibit this behavior and they are constantly moving on to other (better?) spouses or partners or whatever - RELATIONSHIPS - thinking there's something better out there.

But where do YOU fit in to all of this?

Hopefully somewhere in-between.

If you are like me, you KNOW deep down what you are capable of doing and being and you KNOW that there is something MORE that you could/should be doing with your life. How many of you out there can relate?

Over the next few weeks I'm going to try to write a new article on this with continuing thoughts. I'm not sure how often or consistent it will be but I will try to do so at least once a week.

I'll explain more in the next submission WHY I am going through this though process in a MAJOR way right now but, until then, I welcome any and all comments.

I PREFER that you leave those comments on the Future You University fan page on Facebook by going here:

https://www.facebook.com/FutureYouUniversity

I'd love to hear YOUR ideas and of YOUR strivings for something better and WHY you have that burning desire in your life. Will you do that for me? I'd appreciate it as would any and all others that read what you write.

Hey, I DO know this -- there IS something better out there and it's up to ME to go get it.

Until next time...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)
