What Are YOU Creating?

How do you feel?

Really, how do you feel? Do you feel stressed out all of the time? Are you uptight? Anxious?

Is there a feeling of frustration and/or fear prevalent in your life? Are you overwhelmed with the feeling that our world is doomed for destruction?

Do you feel peaceful? Relaxed? Do you rest easily and do you rest well?

Now then, are you ready?
WHAT TYPE OF THINGS DO YOU POST ON YOUR SOCIAL MEDIA?

Are you one that constantly posts or reposts "news" reports of horrible things that happen all around the world? Are you one that constantly posts or reposts videos or articles that lambaste "the other side" from your political viewpoint?

Are you one that posts/reposts good, happy, thoughtful graphics and/or videos? Are you one that posts/reposts thoughts and phrases that will encourage and uplift those that read what you post?

What are YOU creating?

That's right...either way, YOU are "creating" the feelings, emotions and reactions in your life!

"What you sow, you will reap" or "You reap what you sow" fits this perfectly and so does "the Law of Attraction".

What is referred to as "the Law of Attraction" shares the exact same principle as "sowing and reaping" in that it states the following: That which you send out is what will come back to you. If you send out negativity then, guess what? Negativity will come back to you and fill your life. If you send out positivity then yup, you got it, you life will receive and be filled with that which is positive.

This was talked about quite a bit at the training that I attended with Dani Johnson (www.DaniJohnson.com) last weekend. I didn't do a blog or podcast while I was gone and I really wanted to put some thought into what my first article would be once I got back on track.

The answer basically "slapped me in the face" when I opened up my Facebook yesterday and noticed - it just jumped out at me - how many "negative" posts filled my page. WOW!

Hey, let me be the first to admit that I've joined in on some of this in the past. I've really tried to curtail that and control my participation in that type of activity lately and I think I've done fairly well.

THINK ABOUT THIS: Not only does it send a negative feeling/emotion to those that read it/watch it/absorb it but it also puts that same negativity into your own mind and soul.

Is that what you really want for you life and is it really what you want to dump on someone else?

We can try to justify it all we want but, friend, let's get real - NO ONE NEEDS THAT!

All that you have is TODAY ("As long as there is breath, there is hope!").  Why not use today and all of the avenues you have to reach out and touch the lives of others for GOOD? Why not share as much POSITIVE information and as many POSITIVE words to those that you may touch instead of negative sludge?

I've dedicated myself to getting rid of this in my own life. Will you join me? Will YOU determine to stop poisoning YOUR life as well as the life of those with which you come into contact?

What you SOW is what you will REAP and what you SEND OUT is what will COME BACK to you.

I hope that you will share this with as many people as you can and that you'll also listen to the podcast (link below) and also share it with as many as you can.

I also hope that you'll take the time to go to my Future You University page on FB (link below) and leave a comment about this there.

It's time for a change, wouldn't you agree? Then let's start NOW, TODAY.

And as you do so, be sure to...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

Major Setback?

I've never played the game of "Chess" and, honestly, I've never had a desire to do so. I have, however, played "checkers" many times (yes, I do know that they are not anywhere near the same) and have never gotten very good at that game.

I do know this about checkers: those that win and win often know how to think several moves ahead and, from what I understand about the game of chess, the same is true there as well.

I also know this about checkers: What you do NEXT is vitally important!

Friend, this is true in so many areas of our life whether it be games, relationships, education or work related. But it is especially true IF you've experienced a MAJOR setback.

My goodness, as I typed that last sentence it occurred to me that ANY major setback in ANY area of life sets up the importance of your next move.

Wise choices in the midst of adversity. That's much easier said than done.

Even though it is true that planning ahead for such situations and plotting out what your next move might be IF such a thing were to happen is a wise thing to do,  it still does not mean that you will actually follow through with your preplanned thoughts, and here's why: No matter how much you plan, you simply can NOT plan it out as if it were actually happening.

What does that mean?

You cannot make plans like this and include the EMOTIONS that will go along with that event if and when it happens.

Many times the best laid plans get sidetracked by our emotions. You see, when we make plans we are thinking RATIONALLY but when we include emotions and if those emotions take "center stage" then we begin to think IRRATIONALLY.

So, in ANY area, what you do next is of utmost importance.

Mistakes happen BUT that does not mean that your next move need be another mistake!

Final bit of advice: In ANY area of major setback, we must allow ourselves the chance to step back for a moment, catch our breath and think. Friend, that may not happen within the next hour or even day.

This is when it comes in handy for you to have planned out ahead of time. Because NOW when you are thinking irrationally due to your overwhelming emotions, you can sit down and read things through that were planned when you had a clearer head. What you wrote down before may not seem possible to you while you are still high on emotion but give it a little time and allow the "pre-planned rational mind" to have time to take root.

Then boldly move on knowing that you are not acting in haste or by emotion.

It's a big step. It's a necessary step and it's a step that you CAN make boldly if you've taken the time to plan.

Do it and, as you do so, be sure to ...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

The Emotion of Success

The Emotion of Success

Happy? Sad? Melancholy? These are likely some of the words - mostly "happy" and "sad" that come across our mind when we think of emotions, right?

Although we may go through all of these from time to time as we journey along the pathway to success, this is not really what I'm referring to when I talk about the "Emotion of Success".

The idea for this article (and the podcast that goes with it) came from part of an article by Jim Rohn entitled, "It Is a Challenge to Succeed".

(You can find a link to all of Jim Rohn's material by clicking on the banner that you'll find here: http://futureyouuniversity.com/fyu_products.html )

Here is an excerpt from that article that I want to share with you for today: "I’ve often said that to have more, we must first become more, and to become more, we must begin the process of working harder on ourselves than we do on anything else. But in addition to gathering new knowledge, new skills and new experiences, it is also important to discover new emotions. It is how we feel about what we know that makes the biggest difference in how our lives turn out. How we feel about the chances we have and the choices we have determines the intensity of our effort. Whether we try or don’t try. Join or don’t join. Believe or don’t believe."

As I read this I cannot help but think about the fact that PASSION is also an emotion. And, from what I can deduct from this and other materials (and my own personal experience), it is one that is absolutely MANDATORY in order to achieve any level of success.

You cannot miss the point that Mr. Rohn makes about the necessity of IMPROVING ourselves in order to improve our lives! This is what my podcast and this blog is all about - helping you IMPROVE your mindset and your attitude so that you can be better equipped for the journey ahead.

The decisions you make as to whether you "try or don't try, join or don't join, believe or don't believe" all will come from your determination and your passion and your FEELING (emotion) about what this REALLY means to/for you and your family.

When you really consider this, THIS will be what determines if we even SEE the chances and choices that pass before us each and every day. I often hear people say, "I wish someone would just give me a chance!" while they sit around on their butts all day WAITING for someone to drop that chance in their lap. All the while chance after chance passes by their door day after day after day.

You've heard me say (or read my writings) how important the choices we make today are for our future. And, if you've read or listened to many others in this area of personal development they will have said the same thing.

What you do today MATTERS!

If your attitude and emotions are not in line with a person that is PASSIONATE about improving their lives then you will allow opportunities to pass through your fingers by NOT MAKING WISE CHOICES when they come your way.

Think about it!

Too many times we make the choice to NOT do something, to NOT read something and/or to NOT try something and, usually, we don't really have a good reason for NOT doing these things. We just decide NOT to and, many times in the process, have made a CHOICE to turn down opportunity.

Yeah, that's right - that knocking at the door just MIGHT BE opportunity!

I hope that this article - based on the wisdom of Jim Rohn - will challenge your thinking and encourage you to "put your antenna up" so that you can be aware of those choices that can lead to opportunity each and every day.

How do you feel about that?

Always remember to...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

It's the POWER of LOVE!

In Tuesday's podcast (Terrific Tuesday or, as I call it this week - thanks to my friend, Gerry - "Turn-Around Tuesday") we begin a discussion of chapter 11 of the Napoleon Hill classic, "Think & Grow Rich".

The actual title of this chapter is, "The Mystery of Sex Transmutation".... huh?

Don't let the title scare you away. This is not some weird, psychic or sexually explicit discussion that takes place in this chapter. Bottom line, it's talking about "The Power of Love" - and we all know the power packed in that little four-letter word!

Just think about all of the things YOU have even been persuaded to do because of love - or, to be honest, - the thrill or promise or even expectation of some sort of sexual contact. It IS powerful, is it not?

The great thing about this chapter - as is true with the whole book - Napoleon Hill takes the time to explain what it is that he is talking about and even defines the terms that he uses - such as "transmute". Simply put, it is taking the energy from one source (sex/love) and "channeling" it into another use (drive for success, for example).

I'm always amazed when I read this book and realize how relevant it is even though it was written so many years ago! For example, we also very quickly went through the "Ten Mind Stimuli" - things that cause our minds to kick in to high gear and provoke such emotions as "enthusiasm" and "excitement" and, all ten of these can still easily been seen as just that - things that stimulate the mind!

Allow yourself to realize the POWER that you have within you even when fueled by the emotions that are fired by the POWER of LOVE!

We'll continue this discussion in tomorrow's podcast - read ahead!

And, as always...

"Make it an AWESOME Day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"
