UPDATE: Definate & DIFFERENT Opportunity for 202

Just being open and honest on this: I don't have ALL the answers to the questions that you may have. I've just joined myself BUT, from what I've seen and listened to about this program, it is a WIN WIN situation that SHOULD appeal to just about EVERYBODY!

**WHAT IF I DON'T WANT TO CONTINUE?**

Then, don't continue! No obligations. Hey, the way I look at this is that this could be another opportunity for some additional income. WHY NOT?

SEEKING (Asking - Seeking - Knocking)

⁷ “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. ⁸ For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened."    (Matthew 7: 7-8) NKJV

 If you've not done so, please take a few minutes and read the previous two articles on "WHY Do You Ask, Seek, Knock?" and then on the first part on "ASKING". They will get you caught up on this discussion that, regardless of what you do or don't believe, STILL have application in your life for today. 

As a quick preview, the strength of your "why" will greatly determine the strength of your search, or your "SEEKING". If, whatever it is that you decided to "ASK" for/about is not that big of a deal to you then, guess what? The effort that you put into searching and/or SEEKING for that will also not be that big of a deal and, as a result, nothing will happen. You can't just ASK and wait for the answer to fall into your lap!

Remember, "Opportunity Does NOT Always Knock!"

One of the main things that I discuss in the podcast version of this particular article is that, when you begin to actually take action and search and/or seek, YOU CANNOT SEEK WITH PREDETERMINED IDEAS OF WHAT THE ANSWER WILL BE FOR WHICH YOU SEEK.

You can't put "guidelines" or "parameters" on that search. If you do, you are not truly SEEKING. You are simply limiting yourself to hopefully finding something that will already fit what you have decided that you actually need at this point.  

I share in the podcast (see links for iTunes as well as the RSS feed below) a TRUE STORY from my own life where I was "asking" and "seeking" a new church to work with/for a number of years back but, at the same time, I had put some specific parameters on where I was willing to look. And, for me at that time in my life, I had actually put the stipulation on my search of, "O.k. God, please lead me to my next location to work in youth ministry BUT...there needs to be a lake nearby!". I literally would get out a map and see if there was a lake nearby if I got a call from a church that wanted to interview me for the job. Be sure to listen to the podcast to find out how this turned out. Hint: As long as I kept that closed-minded approach to my "search" (it wasn't really a true search, was it?) things did not turn out as I had hoped.

Remember what I said earlier about the strength of your "WHY" determining the strength of your search or SEEKING. Another way to word that would be, how VALUABLE is that for which you seek? Take a look at another scripture where Jesus discusses such thoughts...

⁴⁴ “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and hid; and for joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.⁴⁵ “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful pearls, ⁴⁶ who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had and bought it." (Matthew 13: 44-46)

So, to sum this all up, IF YOU TRULY SEEK TO FIND "THE ANSWER"...  

1. Do not put parameters or limitations for that which you seek 

2. Remove the "blinders" that would keep you from truly seeing that "open door" that might appear

Mike's Quotes #17: Opportunity Knocks?

"Did you know that OPPORTUNITY doesn't always 'knock'?" - Mike Spillman (3.6.11)

I'm sure we've all heard the different discussions about how we must all be ready when opportunity "knocks". Though it is true, I still have a question about that - How do you know when opportunity "knocks"?

Here are a few things I have noticed about opportunity by observation...

   1. OPPORTUNITY IS TRICKY! Sometimes, "opportunity" will send a lot of "pretty stuff" before it comes your way. What am I talking about? Go back and read my last article that talks about, "PRETTY stuff doesn't always mean GOOD stuff!" Sometimes "opportunity" will sit back and watch how you handle the distractions before it decides to reveal itself to you!

   2. OPPORTUNITY MAY DISGUISE ITSELF! Thomas Edison is quoted as saying, "Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work."  

    3. OPPORTUNITY MAY NOT KNOCK! You see, too many people sit around and wait for opportunity to walk up to THEIR door, KNOCK on their door and then WAIT for them to answer the door. To be blunt, what makes YOU so special as to think that opportunity is going to go to that much effort or that opportunity is going to actually choose to knock on YOUR door as opposed to your neighbor's door?

   4. OPPORTUNITY MAY HAVE TO BE "HUNTED DOWN" AND "CAPTURED"! Hey, it's the truth! Sometimes you have to go out there, hunt opportunity down and wrestle that sucker to the ground and capture and claim it for your own! If you pay attention you will find "clues" as to where this opportunity may be found but, again, you must pay attention! You can't always - if ever - sit back and wait for it to knock on your door. If you want it bad enough then you must be willing to take ACTION and go after opportunity!

Are you WAITING or are you PURSUING opportunity?

You can continue to wait if you choose but, remember, "Opportunity doesn't always KNOCK!"

What Have YOU Spent $20 (U.S.) On This Week?

 

Many of you know that, from time to time, I check out different "opportunities" out there and, for the most part, I've been very disappointed in what I have found.

 

As a matter of fact, very soon I'm going to specifically mention two different "opportunities" that are flat-out scams. Yes, I will make sure you know EXACTLY what/who they are and why I say they are scams.

 

NOW THEN...

 

I've still always believed - even KNOWN - that there ARE "real" opportunities to make money and even a living doing something online. I know for a fact that there are people that do it every single day.

 

The problem is making your way through that "mine field" of all of the scams that are out there.

 

Now, let me say this up front: I do not know 100% how this opportunity I'm sharing with you in this article will turn out. I'm not going to promise anything or even suggest anything, as far as results.

 

Sound o.k. to you?

 

As a matter of fact, I'm even going to suggest to you that, when you watch the video that I have a link to below, that you not pay any attention to the "big numbers" that are presented as possibilities in the video. O.k.?

 

Here's the few things I DO want to mention to you and ask that you consider seriously:

     1. This is only a ONE TIME cost of $18 "out of pocket". You heard me right. This is not a "beginning cost" at some basic level that isn't worth two cents. (The video will explain how this works for you). Can you put more money into it? Sure you can. Some people, for example, put more $$ into it for advertising. I don't plan to do that - at least not for now - and you don't have to either. That would be 100% up to you. (That's why I have that $20 bill up at the top. Do you realize how quickly most of us spend $20?)

     2. What if it takes longer than the few weeks that is talked about in the video? WHO CARES? What if it took you a year to even reach the $100k amount, would that be o.k. with you? What if it even took two years to do that? Would that really matter to you? But, WHAT IF you were able to reach even that amount quicker than a year or two?

     3. As you'll see in the video, you're not trying to sell something or keep someone using something. It's simple and, the way I'm looking at it, THIS CAN BE A LOT OF FUN getting others involved and then watching this thing grow. LOOK AT HOW SMALL THE "RISK" IS!!!

     4. The "spill over effect" will help you fill up your spaces. Enough said about that. :)

     5. THIS IS GLOBAL! This is NOT limited to the United States so, those of you that are reading this from other countries (and I know I have a lot of people that do) should be able to participate.

     6. You don't have to "take care" of all the people that sign up under you or that get placed under you. NO BABYSITTING!

 

So, anyway, I'd love it if you'd at least take a look. Ask me questions and I'll do the best I can to answer them but, if you watch carefully, I think you'll find most questions answered.

You've heard the saying, "Opportunity knocks" but, you know what? Opportunity does NOT always knock! Then what?

Sometimes we get distracted and we place our focus on things that just really don't matter or that will NEVER take us where we desire to go and we just don't see opportunity as it walks right past us.

So, sometimes, YOU must BECOME the opportunity and stop waiting for opportunity to knock on your door and politely ask you if you'd like to take a chance at changing your life.

"Take the bull by the horns" is another way to say it. YOU take CONTROL and MAKE it happen!

Remember the 2% we talked about in the last article? Yeah, they are the ones that don't wait. They are the ones that BECOME the opportunity and MAKE it happen.

The Greatest Cost...

"The greatest cost would be a missed opportunity"- Jackie O'Guinn

 

I'm not sure if Mr. O'Guinn is the one that originally came up with that quote or not, but he is the one I heard say it last night when I was on a call with my company.

 

If you've been following along for the past few weeks you will remember that I said that it will likely take you longer to reach your goals and dreams than you first thought and it will likely COST YOU MORE than you first thought.

 

Many give up because of the cost. Cost simply meaning the amount of money that is being put into the pursuit of this goal.

 

Yes, I agree, you cannot and should not just blindly pour money into something without any return. But, here's one thing to seriously think about - if you think that you are going to "make it" by just pouring money into something then, friend, you are badly mistaken.

 

If that is what you are doing and expecting then you are likely being taken for a ride. That's the lazy man's way out and it usually DOES cost him big time.

 

However, many times we also think that pursing this goal and dream shouldn't cost us much of anything! We expect results quicker than is likely realistic and we expect to have to put in far less money than is realistic.

 

Sometimes we determine "cost" in a way that will cause us to miss out on the opportunity of a lifetime.

 

I heard it put this way on a call I was listening to today: If you were GUARANTEED to make $200,000 this year and it would cost you $20,000 to get in on this guarantee, what would you do? Would you just give up and walk away because you didn't have the $20,000 available to you at the moment or would you FIND a way or MAKE a way to get that $20,000?

 

It honestly depends on how you evaluate "cost".

 

Now, there are few guarantees in life, especially when it comes to money and potential earnings. But, as Mr. O'Guinn said, "The greatest cost would be a missed opportunity".

 

What does all of this mean for you?

 

It is simply encouraging you to learn to look at things differently if you are SERIOUS about making needed changes in your life.

 

It does take time and it is uncomfortable, especially at first, because there is risk involved (remember, guarantees are few and far between).

 

Here is a guarantee: You will miss 100% of the shots that you don't take.

 

I don't know friend. I just felt the need to share this information with you today. Maybe it doesn't hit you or connect with you today. But maybe, just maybe, this is exactly what you needed to hear.

 

Opportunity doesn't always knock and, most of the time, once that opportunity passes by your door it is gone, never to return.

 

Make the most of your time - make the most of your day - make the most of your life!

Some will read, “Opportunity is nowhere” and they will live as if that were true. But, c’mon people, we live in a world SURROUNDED by opportunity every single day.

Others – and hopefully you – read the title as, “Opportunity is NOW HERE!” – and it is.

You’ve also heard, “Opportunity knocks” but have you ever heard anyone tell you how long opportunity will knock before it moves on to a different door? Me either so I figure that I had best answer that knock on the door, don’t you?
