December Podcasts and Videos...GETTING CAUGHT UP!

Alright! It's time for me to get CAUGHT UP on the podcasts and videos that I have published so far this month...sorry for not getting the blog articles up with each of these but...it is what it is so this will be a quick recap for you in order to encourage you to check them out for yourself.

The Holiday Season (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years) is a very joyous and festive time of the year...but not for everyone. There are many that go through high levels of stress during this Holiday Season that is brought on by several different factors.

I've tried to address some of these factors in this month's episodes and I hope that either you, yourself, will be blessed and encouraged by these OR that you will share with someone that could use this encouragement.

*You can access all of the podcasts and/or videos by clicking on the appropriate links found at the bottom of this article.*

I began talking about the very fact that many people struggle during this time of the year and then, in following episodes address some specific "Holiday STRESS Factors" as follows:

    - "Missing Loved Ones"... For many this time of the year is especially stressful and hard to get through due to them going through this season without loved ones. I know, for me, my oldest sister is going through this Holiday Season for the first time without her husband of nearly 50 years. My wife is going through her 3rd year without her Mother and her 2nd year without her Dad and it's still tough! I have found that it doesn't really matter how long that loved one has been gone, it's still tough! Watch and/or listen as I share some suggestions to help ease that difficulty.

    - "Dealing with 'Uncle Eddie'! (FAMILY)" - I jokingly refer to "Uncle Eddie" as THAT particular relative that's a little "odd" that you may try to avoid at family gatherings. However, many times, stress can come from a lot of DIFFERENT family members during this time of the year. I think I give some pretty good suggestions on how to best handle some of these situations that you may come across while being around family. What about YOU? What suggestions do YOU have that care to share...perhaps from your own experiences?

    - "Being BROKE at Christmas!" - I'm not sure that there are many more things as stressful for parents as "being broke" at Christmas and trying to figure out how to have Christmas for their kids.  Hey listen, I give some GREAT advice on how to "have Christmas" even when short on funds BUT I also close this one out with a very STRONG challenge to those listening: DETERMINE TO NEVER ALLOW YOURSELF TO BE IN THAT SITUATION AGAIN - EVER!!  The late, great Jim Rohn used to tell the story of a Girl Scout coming to his door to sell him some Girl Scout cookies for $2.00, which he didn't have! He talked about how embarrassed he was that he couldn't even give this little girl the $2.00 for a box of cookies and, due to this embarrassing situation, vowed that he would NEVER be in that situation again. And, he wasn't!

This led me to the start of my next set of episodes...DETERMINING that it is TIME to MAKE A CHANGE once in for all!

"You Can NOT Change!" - Wow, that's a pretty BOLD statement, isn't it? Well, you need to be sure to watch/listen to the content because, in the context provided, that statement is 100% TRUE!

You've heard it before: "For things to CHANGE, things must CHANGE!" Or, maybe you've heard it this way, "If Nothing CHANGES, NOTHING changes!" And finally, maybe this one: "If you wants THINGS TO CHANGE then, understand that THINGS MUST CHANGE!"

This is also when I began talking about my upcoming "Do-Be-Have MORE Challenge" that will be coming up soon. Be sure to listen in for that information!

"What Will it Take" for you to finally get to the point that you are "sick and tired of being sick and tired"??

I'd love to get your feedback on that question and I'd really love to hear your feedback IF you have reached that point and began to make positive changes in your lie. What was it that brought you to that point that made you DECIDE - once and for all - that it was TIME to make a CHANGE

Be sure to listen in as I share a personal story regarding my health back in 2003 and what it was that made me finally reach that point.

Now you are all caught up! *Whew*

I hope that you will take the time to now go and watch/listen and, if you would, leave comments either on my YouTube channel or at my www.FutureYouUniversity.com page with the corresponding podcast and/or video.

In a recent blog post I asked if you were ready to MOVE FORWARD WITH ME. Well friend, that time is NOW...you coming?

Whatever you do, always be sure to make it an AWESOME day - who else is going to do it for you?

Take care -

Mike

The Consequences of Debt: LIMITS

This week, as the content of this series on "The Consequences of Debt", we have looked at STRESS, DIVORCE and HOPELESSNESS. Today, we will look at the "LIMITS" that we have put on our own lives when we allow ourselves to be burdened by debt.

Sometimes, if we have been living under the burden of debt over the course of several years, we may not even realize how limited our life has become! It's really a sad commentary to realize that we have actually become "numb" to the negative limitations that debt has put on our lives.

Here is a short list that I put together the other day when preparing for this episode. I'm sure you can come up with more ways that people can be limited by debt and I've love to hear some of your ideas on my Facebook page (link below).
    1. Buying a house or a car
    2. Christmas/birthday gifts
    3. Celebration events (anniversary, etc.)
    4. Vacations
    5. School Programs for your kids
    6. Better Living Situation (even rent!)
    7. Donating to Good Causes (Your Church / Other organizations)
    8. Helping OTHERS in need

Going back to some things I've discussed in previous articles in this series, too often there are those that have come to accept debt as a way of life...as something that cannot be prevented or resolved. HOW SAD!

Think about it - when we become so accustomed to the pain of being crushed under the burden of debt we go through life as if we are only "half alive".

I've been in a situation before where we had to rely on other people to provide Christmas for our kids. I vowed at that time to NEVER allow that situation to ever be a part of my life again. It is painful to not be able to provide your kids Christmas gifts as well as birthday gifts or to not be able to allow them to participate in some programs at school because you don't have the money that is needed for the program. THAT HURTS! It's also very painful to not be able to do the same for your wife due to the same reason. Vacations become almost non-existent due to the lack of funds.

Maybe you have a heart to help others but you are LIMITED in what you are able to do because of the lack of funds. The lack of funds is often due to the money that is paid out monthly to pay your DEBT bills.

Aren't you tired of living that way yet?

“Oh, I'm O.K...Yes, I have debt that I will be paying on for years into the future but, hey, I make enough $$ to cover the bills so, WHAT'S THE BIG DEAL?"

Really? Are you a FORTUNE TELLER or a PSYCHIC? Do you KNOW what your future holds? Do you KNOW that your job will be in place for you over the next five, ten or twenty years, if not more? Do you KNOW that there will not be any sort of medical situation in you or your family's life that will bring about some large medical bills?

WHY PAY MORE MONEY than necessary in interest and continued payments? WHY in the world would ANYONE want to spend money that they do not need to spend? Why spend money on interest that you don't have to pay? Why continue to pay monthly payments that you don't need to pay? Oh, I'm not saying that you shouldn't pay back the debt that you owe BUT, why make monthly payments longer than necessary?

Why not get your DEBT paid off as quickly as possible, save tons of money in interest and reduce the amount of time that you are making monthly payments? THEN, why not invest that same money into something that will EARN interest (instead of you PAYING interest) and begin to create wealth for you and your family?

Yes, this IS possible! You CAN begin to actually LIVE LIFE instead of living a LIMITED LIFE but it does take planning and it definitely takes ACTION.

We'll discuss that in the next article, the conclusion of this series, entitled, "GET OUT NOW! (Make a Plan - Get Out of Debt)". Be sure to check out the link below that is labeled, "Live Debt Free" for my suggested solution. In the next article we will discuss other ways that may help you begin this journey OUT OF DEBT

Be sure to join me then and, until next time, whatever you do, be sure to...

Consequences of Debt: HOPELESSNESS

When you consider the lie that so many have chosen to believe as truth - "Debt is just a part of life. There's nothing you can do to prevent and there is nothing that you can do to resolve the problem." - then you can see how this can definitely lead to HOPELESSNESS

Debt IS a deep, dark hole that WILL suck you in AND suck the life right out of you! You MUST look at debt this way and understand this comparison to be accurate and TRUE! This is important because, until you DO understand how serious this problem really is, you will not do what you need to do to get OUT of this debt.

Many people that deal with a debt problem don't want to admit there is a problem in the first place. "Hi, my name is _________ and I have debt!" Maybe that is what is needed! According to an article written by Bill Fay, many people go into DENIAL about their debt in the following ways:
  • Underestimating how much you owe.
  • Not answering the phone when you suspect a collection agency is calling.
  • Leaving bills unopened or just stuffing them in a drawer.
  • Opening a new credit card when your old one is maxed out.
  • Telling yourself that everyone is in the same situation.
Mr Fay goes on to say, " Such behavior just leads to more debt as interest charges and late fees pile up. But ignoring reality is a handy defense mechanism for the brain. It’s a way to rationalize mistakes and protect your ego. The problem is reality always sets in."

My experience has been that, a lot of people aren't just in denial, they don't WANT to know how bad their debt problem really is. It's the "Ignorance is Bliss" mentality. But, as Mr. Fay points out, REALITY ALWAYS SETS IN and, friend, this is where HOPELESSNESS also sets in.

The GOOD news is that we CAN fix this! "As long as there is breath, there is hope!" is a phrase that I coined back in 2009 and it certainly applies here. As long as you are alive and breathing, there IS hope regardless of how impossible it may seem. You have opportunity TODAY and every day that you draw a breath to "turn things around" in your life and in every area of your life.

WARNING: This will not be quick and easy! But, friend, do not miss the point that it CAN be done.

I do have a solution for you. I've mentioned it before but want to make sure that I share a way out for you in this area of debt. Go to www.ulivefree.com and check out the information found there. You don't have to fill out any information unless you want to download the "more detailed" information found in the e-book. Watch the videos and the testimonials found there and then get in touch with me and let's see what may be possible for you.

In the next article, as we continue to discuss the consequences of debt, we will be talking about "LIMITS". Being in debt will definitely limit your life in many different areas.

Be sure to join me for that and, until then, whatever you do, always be sure to...

Consequences of Debt: DIVORCE

The Consequences of Debt: DIVORCE

The stress that comes with debt is far reaching and, likely, more than we would really care to even consider.  In the last article we discovered a list of several physical problems that have been known to occur due to stress.

Sure, there are many other causes of stress in our lives but, at the same time, the stress from debt fuels many of these other symptoms.

For example, I took a look at two different articles about the top causes of divorce and, not surprisingly, money or financial issues were in the top 4 on both lists. It was number two on one list and number four on the other.

Here is one list that comes from Shellie Warren at marriage.com -
1. infidelity  2. money  3. lack of communication  4. weight gain  5. unrealistic expectations  6. lack of intimacy  7. lack of equality  8. no being prepared for marriage  9. abuse

When I look at that list, I can easily see how the stress that is related to money problems/debt would also have an influence on other things listed. For example, stress from debt could actually have a hand in someone being unfaithful in their marriage. No, I'm not saying it is an excuse for bad behavior but, if the stress is bad enough, a person may look for an avenue to just "get away" from their current situation. DEBT STRESS may also impact communication to the point where those in the relationship begin to NOT communicate at all. Weight gain? It's a known fact that when someone gets depressed and are under stress they tend to eat more and to eat more junk!

Do I need to continue down this list? Go through the rest of the list and see if you can connect "debt stress" to the rest of the items found there. I'm sure you can.

I'm sure you can also do the same with the list that I found on divorce.com - 1. infidelity  2. lack of communication  3. physical/emotional abuse  4. financial issues  5. sexual problems  6. boredom  7. religious/cultural differences  8. issues raising children  9. addiction  10. difference in expectations

Then, if there are kids in a marriage they, too, are impacted for the rest of their lives when a divorce takes place. Sure, some handle it better than others but, friend, let's not try to paint a "pretty picture" of the impact of divorce.

And, again, the thing about this stress from debt is, IT'S NOT NECESSARY!

“Debt is just a part of life and there is nothing that can be done to prevent it or to resolve the problem."  Sadly, too many people believe that quote as truth when it actually is a BIG LIE! Debt does NOT have to "just be a part of life" and, friend, there ARE things that you CAN do to prevent it and there definitely IS a resolution to the problem.

Think of DEBT as a "dark hole" that is ready to suck in anything that comes anywhere near the "mouth" of this monster. And, by the way, DEBT IS A "DARK HOLE" and you need to begin to look at it in that way! Take another look at that quote in the previous paragraph and, if you believe that quote to be true - or ANY PART OF IT to be true - then apply it to the "dark hole" view. IF debt was just a part of life then, friend, what you are saying is that you or anyone else can do NOTHING to keep from getting sucked down that dark hole! You, and everyone else, is DOOMED to this fate! And, according to this quote, YOU CAN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT and YOU CANNOT RESOLVE THIS PROBLEM! In other words, to put it bluntly, YOU'RE SCREWED!
I want you to know that, although I will be discussing some of the CONSEQUENCES OF DEBT in this series, I will also be sharing with you my suggested solution to the problem. Yes, I shared that suggested solution with you in Lesson 5 of the last series and I will mention it again with every article in this series. It won't be a sales pitch but I feel that it is important to share a SOLUTION and not just talk about the problem. Simply go to ulivefree.com and take a look at the two videos and then look over the rest of the information. This is an INCREDIBLE program designed to get you out of debt - ALL DEBT - in a fraction of the time!

I'd love to get feedback from you on the series so far and anything else. I'd love to hear from you! In my next article I will be discussing another consequence of debt - HOPELESSNESS.

Until next time, friend, whatever you do, always be sure to...

The Consequences of Debt: STRESS

In my last series ("Working From Home Series") I concluded with a lesson on "My Suggested Solution". In that lesson I shared the following numbers as it concerns debt in America:

In an article written by Bill Fay entitled, "The Emotional Effects of Debt" he states the following: "...72% of Americans said they felt stressed about money, according to an American Psychological Association study. And 22% said they felt “extreme” stress over their finances."

In another article, written by Jennifer Soong and entitled, "The Debt-Stress Connection", she states, "An AP-AOL study reveals that debt-related stress is 14% higher in 2008 than in 2004. Those who report high levels of debt stress suffer from a range of stress-related illnesses including ulcers, migraines, back pain, anxiety, depression and heart attacks."

I read other articles that talked about other physical problems from which those under stress might suffer. Things like lack of sleep, loss of appetite and even hair loss. From my own experience and what I have seen with others, they may also include acne breakout on a persons body and even panic attacks.

When you consider these things then you can also see why stress due to financial problems (debt) is one of the top reasons for a couple to get a divorce. Think about the impact on each of the two in the marriage as well as any children that may be a part of the marriage. All of this due to the stress with DEBT

The thing is, it's NOT NECESSARY! Too many people - maybe you? - have settled for the lie that debt is just a part of life and there is nothing that can be done to prevent it or to resolve the problem. BOTH OF THESE ASSUMPTIONS ARE FALSE

For the rest of this series we will be taking a look at other "consequences of debt" as follows: DIVORCE,  HOPELESSNESS, SUICIDE and LIMITS.  Think about how stress has a role in each one of these produced issues that come from the burden of debt.

Debt is NOT just a "numbers" problem. It is a problem with our mindset and attitude. Debt often occurs when we decide to BUY THINGS THAT WE DO NOT NEED so that we can IMPRESS OTHERS THAT WE DON'T EVEN KNOW with MONEY THAT WE DO NOT HAVE.

Folks, that's a problem and the consequences are real but, again, they are unnecessary. Click on the link below ("Live Debt Free") for a REAL solution to help you remove ALL debt from your life in a fraction of the time than you can following "traditional" pay-off plans.

In closing, think for a moment about the change in YOUR life as well as the life of your family and those close to you once you remove debt - and the consequences - from your life. Yes, you can!

Join me in the next part of this series as we continue to discuss "The Consequences of Debt".

Work From Home Series #5: My Suggested Solution

In today's concluding article for this series, I will systematically go through the "Six Warning Signs" that I mentioned in Lessons 2 and 3 and see how they "stack up" with the company that I will share with you today. I will also see how this company "stacks up" with my personal "Mission Statement" that I shared with you in Lesson 4.

As I stated before, if you have not checked out Lessons 1 - 4, please be sure to do so. All of these lessons are important for those that may be considering connecting with a company for the purpose of "working from home". Too, I STRONGLY suggest that you watch the videos for this series. I believe you will benefit greatly by doing so. As a matter of fact, I will mostly be sharing the screen shots from the video in this article. Watch the video for full details.

Here is the comparison of this company with all six "Warning Signs"...

Take a look at these stats...

I recently worked for a company that built custom homes. I would work with those that showed interest in getting information about the process and would get them to the point that they wanted to fill out an application to see about getting a loan so that they could purchase their "dream home".

However, there were so many that were not able to get approved due to their "debt to income ratio". Simply put, the amount of debt that they had was too great for the amount of their income and the financial institution decided that they could not take a risk on such a proposition. So much of their problem would usually have some connection to student loans, medical bills, credit cards and/or automobile loans. Often the problem involved ALL of the things that I just listed.

DEBT IS A MAJOR BURDEN IN OUR SOCIETY!

So, here is my business card that will introduce you to the company that I have decided fits every area of my search and my purpose. The name of the company is United Financial Freedom...

Please be sure to go to the website listed above - www.ULiveFree.com - and watch the 2 videos that you will find there. This will give you a GOOD idea of what it is that we do. Write down any questions that you may have and then contact me with those questions.

By the way, this is NOT some sort of "credit repair" company at all. This is NOT a company that will try to find some "loophole" that will allow you to skip out of debt that you owe. It is a program designed to help you pay off your debt - ALL debt - in a fraction of the time and save you THOUSANDS in interest. Again, WATCH THE VIDEO to get the full story of what I shared there.

Let me mention one more thing: IF you feel that this is NOT for you as far as a "work from home opportunity", please take a close look and see if this would not be something that could help you and your family in the area of debt and the stress and strain that is a part of that circus.

I'd love to get your feedback and hope you will do that for me. Until next time, whatever you do...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

Work From Home Series #2: Warning Signs Part 1

As always, please be sure to go back and read the article before this since it is the first "lesson" in the series. ALSO, I would suggest that you actually WATCH THE VIDEOS (link below) in this series...I think you will benefit from doing so.

As we continue to discuss the possibility of working from home, it is important to take a good look at what your "expectations" are when you envision taking this journey. What do you imagine it will be like if and when you take that step? What "picture" do you "see" in your mind? When you watch the video, you will see several pictures that I pulled up on a search for "work from home". I've included one below so that you can get an idea of what is often portrayed for this category.

Is this similar to what you envision when you think of working from home? Do you picture yourself lounging around in your pajamas, kicking back and, for the most part, taking life easy?

If so, this is one major problem before you even begin the daunting task of looking over what is available! This is a FALSE IMAGE that does NOT truly show what it is like to work for yourself, from your own home. Not even close! Is it possible to live this way? Yes, but it will take you years to get to the point for this to be true in your own life, if even then.

So, before we even begin to address the actual "Warning Signs" that I have planned for this article, we must start there! Come on back down out of the clouds and to reality and we'll continue with the rest of today's discussion.

When I say "Warning Signs" I'm talking about things that you MUST pay attention to and understand how important it will be for you as far as getting answers about them.

Warning Sign #1: Is it something that is already offered in "normal" venues?      Whether it's vitamins or some type of energy drink, coffee, makeup, nail polish or any of the many things that are promoted in this arena, if it is something that people can buy at the local store at a much cheaper price, THIS WILL MAKE IT VERY DIFFICULT TO SUCCESSFULLY SELL TO OTHERS.

It doesn't matter how much better you have been told (and maybe believe) your product may be compared to those at the store, the majority of people don't really care about any thing else except the cost. Money talks and what you have to offer will likely be priced substantially higher than what they can buy at the store.  Be careful that you don't buy into the hype that will tell you otherwise.

Does that mean that it will be impossible for you to have any type of success with this type of product. No, but it will definitely make it more difficult.

Warning Sign #2:  Does the use of this product require MAJOR changes in habit?    Back in 2003 I lost 100 lbs over the course of 13 months. I don't remember exactly how much of that 100 lbs. I lost by using a certain weight loss product but I did honestly feel better using that product than I did with anything else I did and/or tried over that time period. I actually still use some of those products even today! People that knew me and saw the transformation that had taken place wanted what I had! They saw the results with their own eyes!

However, I learned quickly that, even though they "wanted" the results, they were unwilling to do what it would take for them to get similar results. Many people want CHANGE but are not willing to DO WHAT IT TAKES to bring about that change in their lives.

The same is true if you are talking about "cleaning products" for you home or even coffee. It's the same for those programs that urge others to completely change their habits for their phone, electric, t.v. and other services that they use on a daily basis.

Impossible? No. However, I just want to make sure that you are aware of the difficulty that this type of product will bring your way - REGARDLESS OF THE HYPE that you will be told.

Warning Sign #3:  What is the cost to get started and what is the CONTINUED costs involved?  Please notice that a "start up" cost does NOT mean that it is something that needs to be avoided! You will not find a program that will actually provide you a way to do business without there being SOME cost involved at the start. That cost can (and likely will) vary widely and YOU will be the one that will have to decide what amount you feel is justified.

"Continued Costs" can come in several different ways. One of the main ones is what is usually called "Admin Fees" (administration fees) and, again, THAT cost can and will vary widely. Currently, I pay $0 monthly fees in this area and have paid as much as $197 per month for these fees. Again, YOU are the one that will have to decide what you are comfortable with and what you feel is justified.

One that many don't even consider (most don't even KNOW to consider this) is the cost of having people to talk with in one way or another.  It may be the cost of posting ads on Craigslist, for example. "I thought you could post for free?" Regardless of what you may be told, posting ads for free in this way is NOT the way to accomplish much of anything. For one, you will CONTINUOUSLY be checking to see if your ad has been removed or not and, it likely will be and will be OFTEN. The only way to actually do much in this area is to PAY for it and, friend, that cost CAN add up quickly.

You may need to buy leads in order to have enough people to share your opportunity with each and every day. What are leads and how much do they cost? Leads can be those who reply to your ads that you have posted or that saw you make a post on social media. A "lead" is simply a person that has given you some amount of information so that you can contact them and share your information. Some people BUY leads which, by the way, has a "mine field" all it's own! The costs of these leads also vary greatly and the "quality" of them ALSO varies greatly.

NOTE: Most home-based business FAIL due to the lack of an adequate supply of leads. Simply put: Not enough people to talk with about whatever it is that you offer.  THIS IS A COST THAT YOU MUST TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION!

In the next "lesson" I will cover 3 more "Warning Signs" that need to be considered and I hope that you will join me for that one. If you have any questions that you would like to ask, please do so by going to my FBook page (see link below) and leave a comment. Perhaps it is a question about something that I've discussed in this series OR a question about a situation that you are considering and you'd simply like another opinion. Please don't mention any company names when you leave a comment with your question. If you have some information that you would like me to actually see, just let me know and I'll make arrangements to get that from you.

Just for your information, here is another look at the topics to be covered in this series...

I hope you find this series beneficial and I hope you will join me again for the next "lesson" and, until then, whatever you do, always be sure to...

Work From Home Series #1: Is It Possible?

It's the start of another calendar year - 2020 - and many people have geared themselves up to achieve something new and/or better in and for their lives. Among the top 2 categories for these "New Year's Resolutions" are health and wealth.

A lot of people will start this new year off with a stated desire to get in better shape. I do want you to notice, though, that a "stated" desire is actually a lot different than an "intentional" desire. And, the same is true as applied to the other category - wealth. Many people have a stated desire to improve their financial situation.

Due to this fact, as I mentioned on the podcast and/or the video that goes along with today's topic (see links below), both of these "desires" will lead many to take a look at "work from home opportunities".

If you have looked at these very often then you know that there is a WIDE array of things that are offered in this area. And, if you have actually tried some of these then you also know that it is quite difficult to find something that actually works or that you feel is actually legitimate.

I strongly encourage you to be sure to watch the video presentation for this series (YouTube link below). As always, there is also a podcast that has been recorded for each lesson in this series but I believe the video will be of a great benefit to and for you.

So, again, the question that we will discuss today is, "IS IT POSSIBLE?"

The good news is that, YES, it IS possible but understand that "possible" does not mean "easy".

It is possible but you must CHOOSE WISELY and, friend, that will take some effort on your part. I believe that your reading, listening and/or watching this series is a part of that effort and I'm glad that I can be of assistance in this area.

I compare this effort to someone that desires to find a good relationship or marriage even after they have experienced several failed attempts in this area in the past. The same question will be asked about finding such a relationship: "Is it possible for me?" SURE IT IS! Hopefully a person has learned from their past mistakes and failed relationships and, HOPEFULLY, this has caused them to be more careful and more aware of what TO DO as well as what NOT TO DO (or look for) in their next relationship.

So it is with finding a legitimate work from home opportunity which you can feel good about being involved as well as representing.

You can see the schedule of upcoming "lessons" for this series and I hope you will be a part of all of these - they are ALL important for you to consider. Let me also mention that, although I am in no way any kind of "expert" in this area, everything I will share with you comes from my own experience in this area over the past 17 years.

IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, please do not leave them here but, instead, go to my Facebook page (see link below) and leave them there and, if I get them in time, I will try to answer them on some of the videos. If I don't have time to answer them as I record and, if there are enough questions, I may do another video simply for the purpose of answering questions. If there are not enough to do that and I do have some questions, I will likely just answer them on the Facebook page.

Be sure to share this information with anyone that you know that may also be looking at starting a new venture with a "work from home opportunity". Thank you, in advance, for doing so.

Be sure to join me for our next lesson as we take a look at my first 3 "Warning Signs" that I will cover in this series. Until then, whatever you do, always be sure to...

Mike's Quotes #31: One Day At A Time

"One day at a time...that's how it comes AND goes!" - Mike Spillman (12.31.2017)

Here we are again. Still looking over the year that has just passed and now, on this 2nd day of the New Year, we look forward to what lies ahead.

"Where did the time go?" That's something that you hear a lot, isn't it? Well, at least I do and I also find myself saying that very thing! It's strange but, it DOES seem as if time goes by quicker as you get older but we all know that this simply is not true. It passes for each of us in exactly the same way and at the same pace. For the purpose of this blog article I will state how it goes by in seconds, minutes, hours and days.

The year that just passed did so one day at a time - 365 of them. And, guess what? The year that we have just begun will also pass the same way - one day at a time and then, after 365 of them, we will find ourselves back at the start of yet another year.

"One day at a time...that's how it comes AND goes!"

If you have followed me for any length of time then you know how much I stress the importance of TODAY. Let me state it again: That period in the future that we call "tomorrow" does not exist. There is no promise of it's arrival and, at this point in time, it is yet to come into existence. And, on the other side, that time period that we call "yesterday" also no longer exists. Different than "tomorrow", "yesterday" DID actually exist but it is no longer. It's in the past, gone and never to be relived or retrieved. That being said, TODAY is all that we have at our disposal. What will YOU do with YOUR "today"?

Next week I plan to start a new series about all of those so-called, "Work From Home Opportunities" that so many of you (along with many others) may be looking over at the start of this new year. But, in my next article I will share another of my quotes that goes a step beyond today's thought and touches on how we can make sure that we have a PRODUCTIVE year by having PRODUCTIVE days. Be sure to join me for that article and also be sure to listen to the podcasts on these topics as well. All links can be found below.

Again friend, I do want to wish you a Happy New Year and I thank you for allowing me to be a part of your "positive information diet". Until the next time, whatever you do, always be sure to...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

Action Removes Doubt

If you've never taken the opportunity to do so when I have mentioned this before, I want to tell you that you NEED to go to www.DaniJohnson.com and check out what this lady has to share and offer you and anyone that goes to her site. There is a LOT of free stuff for you there. This lady KNOWS what she is talking about - that's why I share stuff from her so often on the Facebook fan page that you can access here.

It's been said many times in many different ways by many different people but what you see said in the graphic above comes from Dani Johnson for this day: "ACTION takes you out of doubt, while doubt takes you OUT OF ACTION!"

Doubt - or FEAR - can and will paralyze you, freeze you, to the point of doing nothing. This only creates more doubt and/or fear due to the lack of results. It is a vicious downward spiral that CAN be corrected but it can only be corrected with ACTION!

Hey friend, I'm speaking to myself here as well!

I did come up with this little phrase a few years back that applies today: "If you want the plan to work you must work the plan!"

There was a time in my life a little over twenty years ago when I was out of work and, partly due to this, I slipped into a deep depression. One of the most frustrating things about this was also something that added to the depression. The very thing(s) that I knew I NEEDED to be doing - HAD to be doing, I did not - COULD NOT, do. I KNEW that I needed to get out of bed and go find a job - ANY job...but I just couldn't do it. Now, if you've never been through that I understand that you cannot understand that concept but, if you have been there, then you know exactly what I'm describing.

The very thing I needed to do to help (at least to some point) my current state of affairs was not being done which simply added to the frustration, depression and desperation.

I promise that I'm not trying to be over-dramatic on this but it really does relate to what we are talking about today.

ACTION is a necessity in ANY desire and attempt toward improvement in any area of life. Specifically for this discussion, ACTION is a necessity in any job or opportunity designed to help improve your financial situation.

Many are afraid and/or doubtful of their ability to do what is needed and, as a result, add to their own frustration and desperation - and DOUBT - by their very actions (or LACK of actions).

To change up a well known commercial phrase: "Just GET UP and DO IT!"

You've often heard that the only way to overcome a fear is to face it.

ACTION removes doubt AND fear.

It's as simple as that but, at the same time, one of the hardest things to DO. But, do it, you MUST!

And, as you do so, be sure to...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

Do It Now For Later

That's good advice no matter how you slice it. Wouldn't you agree?

Maybe it's a bit confusing and you're not exactly sure what is meant by this statement and maybe you don't even agree with the philosophy behind it.

Most people don't understand it or get it and, even if they do, they don't agree with it and what it means for their lives.

Many - if not most - people live in the NOW.

They have no focus, care or concern for the future and what their future could involve. Oh, you may hear them SAY that they are concerned for their future and that they are trying to plan for their future but what you hear are just words.

As a matter of fact, when most people say that they are "concerned" for their future it usually means they have no idea what they are going to do because they have nothing in place to take care of their future.

A few years ago I heard a father on a television "reality" show give a pretty good answer to his son who was wanting to watch television and play video games before he got his homework done. The father's answer went something like this: "Son, you do what you HAVE to do so that you can then do what you WANT to do."

Same idea as you see in the graphic above.

Work hard NOW so that you can take it easy later.

Do what it takes NOW so that you can have the life you desire later.

Build relationships with your family and your kids NOW so that they will be by your side later. (And, by the way this is not a contradiction of the sentence two paragraphs up. This does not have to be an "either/or" proposition).

If necessary, scrimp NOW - live frugally now - so that you can live like most others won't and can't later.

Sure, enjoy your life today. It IS all that we have. But, honestly, only a fool would live their life without focus and a plan for their future.

Want it made very simple? Ask any athlete - yes, even Jr. High and High School  - about how they feel about the "two-a-day" football practices that start in the summer before school even begins.

They may not like it but they get it.

And so should you, friend.

So, as you live today with a view of tomorrow in sight, be sure to...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"

Excited People Make Others Nervous!

Have you noticed that? People get nervous when you get excited! Now imagine when you get SEVERAL excited people together – OTHER PEOPLE FREAK OUT!

Why? Because, most of the time, they don’t know what it is to be excited about anything and think that you must be “on” something or just plain NUTZ! It’s really rather funny (and yeah, I know I misspelled “nutz”) when you think about it.

So, they don’t know – or remember  – what it is to get excited and ALSO they have nothing to get excited about and don’t trust others that do. What? Let me explain.

We’ve all heard the idea that people are afraid of what they don’t understand or that people are afraid of the unknown. Many times, these people have lost their ABILITY to become excited about ANYTHING in life and when they see others get excited about something they are afraid because they just CANNOT understand what there is to get excited about! And, on top of that, since they can’t seem to get excited about anything they are DOUBLY AFRAID because that kind of excitement and enthusiasm is unknown – FOREIGN – to their very thought process.

You see them every day. And they see you!

Maybe this describes you. Perhaps you are wary of ANYONE that gets excited about ANYTHING. Friend, it’s time for you to recapture the excitement of your youth when you got excited over just about everything!

You see, there are some things WORTH getting excited about and there are some things that you just CAN’T HELP but get excited about!

Let go – let loose – GET EXCITED once again.

And, remember, whatever you do, be sure to...

"Make it an AWESOME day! (Who else is going to do it for you?)"
